Toby update 💕 It is a #feelgoodfriday 💜 We got the call this afternoon from @ucdavisvetmed and they can do Toby’s jaw surgery 🙌 🎉👏
The surgery will add a titanium plate in place of his missing jaw on the left. They will also need to adjust the right side of his jaw to allow for as close as proper alignment as they can get and alignment of his teeth. It is a big surgery but if all goes well he will have a centered and fully functioning jaw. It is so exciting to imagine that he will have the quality of life he deserves, finally.
Our sweet boy will check in on the 19th for surgery on the 20th and discharge hopefully on the 21st.

💰💰💰The estimate for surgery is $6700 and could be more once they get in there. We have previously paid $1500 at the Seattle specialty vet and $4400 at UC Davis. Thank you to those who have donated 💜We still need more help to make this surgery a reality. We are applying for grants 🤞🏼

Toby Update 🔔 We made the long drive to Davis, CA yesterday. Had a night of rest and a nice long walk through the @ucdavis_arboretum before his appointment @ucdavisvetmed with Dr. Evenhuis and Dr. Arzi
They did a physical exam and he will be staying the night for a new CT scan to see if he has the minimum requirement of bone present in his back left jaw to be able to attach a plate.
This is the most important piece to be able to repair his missing jaw. Please cross fingers, say prayers, whatever good mojo you can send that he has enough bone to make this possible. 🤞🏼🙏💗 The CT will also allow them to produce the 3D models of his current jaw as well as the version they are hoping to have once repaired.
⭐️Tomorrow will be the big day where we learn 1. If full repair/replace is possible 2. Other options if it is not
Dr.Arzi beautifully said “Humans caused this so us humans will fix it”

What a great day! The pups and us had a great time at our adoption event @petevolution_millcreek The pups all got baths thanks to the staff and were ready to meet potential adopters smelling fresh and feeling clean. 🧼 Maui got the full glow up 🌟
Lots of lovely people came out to give cuddles 💜. Our sweet Rosie even met her potential family and is starting her trial adoption 🎉

👋Rupert would love to be someone’s adventure buddy this weekend. 🏔️He needs a foster Friday-Monday. He has integrated in to the pack of various dogs with no issues so could be with dogs if foster is savvy at introductions or can keep separate for the short time.
🪧Reminder, we can only rescue as many dogs as we have fosters for. If we can’t get help we can’t save lives.
