Frosty Friday Facts!❄
The coming week it is meant to get extra chilly and start dropping into freezing temperatures! 🥶
While most dogs have a fur coat, not all dogs are dressed for the winter!
Many double coated breeds like huskies & malamutes LOVE the frosty weather, it's their season and because of their thick fur, they are well insulated. 🐻❄
But our more delicate breeds like sighthounds and little dogs can feel the cold much more. Miniature Pinchers like Tiger Lily have a very thin fur coat which means they have no insulation at all! For these breeds a good thick coat is ideal to keep their bodies warm, especially the chest and abdominal areas were all the important organs are! 🧥
And remember to wipes paws down after walks to remove any hazards such as road salt/antifreeze!
