Meet Luna. 💚
Luna came to our Tewkesbury clinic to see our lovely Vet, Sarah after Luna’s owners noticed a bad smell coming from her mouth for a few days.
Sarah had a good examination of Luna and could see a small stick lodged at the roof of Luna’s mouth. 😧
Here’s a video of our brilliant Vet Nurse, Lauren holding Luna while Sarah retrieved the stick using some forceps. 👏🏻
Luna was so brave and received lots of fuss from the team. Fantastic job team!💚
This is the very lovely Nigel. 🐱
Nigel loved receiving post-op cuddles and attention from our Patient Care Assistant, Courtney after being neutered at our Tewkesbury clinic. 💚💚
The Vets can be a scary place for your furry friends especially for cats. Our team work very hard to ensure they are comfortable and happy while they stay with us to help reduce anxiety and stress. This can be by human interaction, toy enrichment, pheromones (Feliway plug-ins) and sometimes isolation if other animals cause stress.
💚💚💚

This week is World AMR Awareness Week (WAAW), a global campaign that is celebrated annually to raise awareness about antibiotic resistance and the dangers it poses to both human and animal health.
It's critical that we preserve the effectiveness of our antibiotics for as long as possible, which can be achieved by only using them when necessary. The battle against antibiotic resistance is a collective effort, and we all have a role to play.
We’re going blue to raise awareness. Are you ready to do your part?

⏰ As the clocks go back in a few weekends to herald the start of Winter, we can now pull out our winter woollies and don our winter boots for walks with our dogs through colourful lanes in the crisp autumn air! 🧤🧣👢
However, you might walk your dog after dark due to the decreased daylight hours. Here are some autumn dog walking tips to consider when exercising during these times to keep yourself and your pet safe…

The loud bangs and flashing lights of fireworks can be distressing for small animals. As Bonfire Night approaches, ensuring that your pets are well-prepared for the occasion is important. If you own small animals like rabbits or guinea pigs, here are some tips to help them remain calm and happy.
🧶Provide extra bedding if your pet lives outdoors so they can burrow down and feel safe from any bright lights and loud noises. This will give them a comfortable and secure space to hide away from the excitement.
🏡Consider bringing your pet indoors for the night to shield them from the noise and commotion of the evening. Playing some relaxing music can also help to muffle the sound of fireworks and create a calming atmosphere.
🚪If your pet already lives indoors, close curtains and windows to dampen the sound of loud bangs and create a more peaceful environment.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

🍂 🐱 As autumn sets in and the nights grow longer, it's time to prepare for Bonfire Night. However, while fireworks bring us joy, they can be distressing for our feline friends.
As clever creatures, cats require extra care during this time. Here are some tips to help keep your cat safe and comfortable:
🏠 Keep your cat indoors where possible and make sure they are microchipped
🤫Create a cosy and quiet space inside where they can relax and avoid the noise.
🐱Consider giving them calming treats or supplements to help them stay calm. A pheromone diffuser may also be beneficial, particularly to start using ahead of the celebration season.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us.

The fireworks season is just around the corner, but for many dogs, this time of year can be quite distressing. To ensure that your canine companion feels safe and secure during this period, it's essential to prepare them ahead of time.
Here are our top three tips for keeping your pet as comfortable as possible:
🚪Keep your dog from escaping the house by securely closing all doors and windows.
🎆Close curtains and blinds to help muffle the sounds and flashing lights of fireworks.
🦮Walk your dog before it gets dark.
🔒 In case of an unexpected event, ensure your pet has an up-to-date microchip with current information.
❤️Give your dog plenty of love, attention, and fun activities to distract them.
🐶 Avoid leaving your dog alone during this time.
🎶 Have some calming music playing in the background to mask out the loud bangs of fireworks.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Here is our Vet, Sarah and Veterinary Nurse Hannah retrieving a grass seed we found in this poor dog's ear! 🌿🍃
This lovely dog came in to see us as she kept shaking her head after she had been running around the fields. We had a look down her ear and could see a lovely grass seed. 🌿
As it was so close to her ear drum it was in her best interest to retrieve this pesky grass seed under sedation to help with any discomfort.
What a brave girl 💚💚💚
Jess was so relaxed during her nurse clinic with our brilliant Veterinary Nurse, Sharne and made her self at home!
We love seeing your pets mooch about the consultation room and feel comfortable at the clinic. 💚💚💚💚
📆 👨⚕️👩⚕️ Throughout May, to celebrate Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month, we will recognise and appreciate the vital role of our empowered veterinary nurses.

The lovely Rex came to our Cheltenham clinic to be castrated. 💚 🐰
Unlike cats and dogs, rabbits do not need to be starved before an operation and it is vital that they eat before the surgery and after reduce the risk of gut stasis (the slowing down or stopping of movement through the digestive tract).
This is a little video of our lovely Veterinary Nurse, Georgia feeding Rex recovery food after his surgery. Isn’t he adorable 🥰?
