We would like to say congratulations to Brad Cooper for his 19 years of service at Folly Gardens! 💚🐾

Brad started the business at Barton Road 19 years ago and has progressed into opening Walton Cardiff, Bishops Cleeve and Cheltenham.

He has been the brains, face and voice of Folly Gardens since 2006 and is still going strong for you and your pets. 🐱 🐕 🐰

Meet the wonderful, Dexter. 🧡

Dexter came to see us at our Walton Cardiff Clinic for a health check. Dexter is apart of our pet health for life and gets a health check alternating with a Vet and a Veterinary Nurse every 3 months. 🐾

Our Bishops Cleeve clinic is now an accredited Silver Cat Friendly clinic! 🐱 🐈‍⬛ 🐈 🐾

Our Veterinary Nurse, Rachel has worked extremely hard to make our clinic gain a Silver award to ensure that you and your cats experience at the Vets is as stress-free as possible. 💚

You may have noticed we have a true cat waiting area in our waiting room. Where your feline friends can remain stress-free in a separate waiting room. We have also undergone some changes in the hospital to ensure we minimise stress, fear and anxiety while they are with us.

Fantastic job Rachel at making this a much calmer place for our feline friends.💚 🐱

We had a blast with a team-building evening where some of our amazing team members got creative and carved pumpkins! 🎃

Meet Eddie the Tibetan terrier!💚

Eddie came to see us at our Tewkesbury clinic to be neutered. He loved all the fuss, care and attention he received from the team especially our wonderful Veterinary Nurse, Hattie.

Meet the wonderful, Dotty. 💚

Dotty came to us after not being herself, off her food and feeling genuinely poorly. 🤒

After thorough examination from our lovely Vet, Sarah we diagnosed her with something called a Pyometra (also known as a Pyo).

A Pyometra is a life-threatening infection in the uterus (the uterus can fill with pus) due to a combination of bacteria and hormonal changes.

This resulted in Dotty staying with us to be hospitalised and do us to perform abdominal surgery to remove the infected uterus.

We picture below is of Dotty when she came to see us for her post-operative check. She was super brave and had made a full recovery. ❤️‍🩹

Good job team, you took fantastic care of Dotty. 💚💚💚

Our brilliant Vet, Meg, is the head of our sustainability team and is pleased to demonstrate some of the changes we have made to make Folly Gardens more environmentally friendly. 🪴 ♻️

The video below shows Meg explaining our new surgical tins for our surgical kits which help to reduce waste. ♻️

How to flea and worm your cat! 🐱 🐈‍⬛ 💊

In the first video, you’ll see our amazing Clinical Nursing Manager, Ali, giving the lovely Saffy a wormer.

The trick is to gently lift the cat’s head, and they’ll naturally open their mouth, making it easy to place the tablet inside. Sometimes, we use pill poppers to make it even easier. 👏🏻💚

The second video shows Ali applying Bravecto, a flea and tick preventative spot-on, to the back of Saffy’s neck, making sure she can’t lick it off. 🐱

Saffy’s an outdoor cat, so it’s super important to keep up with her vaccinations, flea and worm treatments. We want to make sure she stays healthy and protected from any viruses or parasites!

DENTALS 🦷🪥

Dental X-rays are a crucial component of veterinary dentistry. They enable the detection of issues beneath the gumline which are not visible to the naked eye.

This procedure is carried out by our brilliant Veterinary Nurses as well as a dental assessment and scale and polish under the direction of our fantastic Veterinary Surgeons. 🩺😷

We are so proud of our fabulous Veterinary Nurse, Lauren at our Bishops Cleeve Clinic who has recently completed a merit award in Veterinary dentistry. This award has enabled her to train in dental radiography and enhance her knowledge of anaesthesia for our dental patients. 👏🏻

Having this knowledge allows us to give your pets the best care they need especially when it comes to their teeth. 🦷
