As an animal shelter, our fans get clogged up badly often because of the fur from our fluffy cuties!

Luckily, for the past couple of years, our friends from MOE have been coming down to help us clear the fans. It's very sweaty, grimy work that leaves everyone covered with a layer of dirt 🤣

But with their help, our furry cuties will have clean, fresh air to breathe... So that they can look cute and continue to clog the fans until the next round of cleaning 🤭🤭🤭

Nori is looking for her forever fam!

This tiny little tabby darling was rescued together with her brother Miso and brought to us when they were a couple of months old. Sadly, Miso passed away from complications due to FIP. Nori has rallied very bravely after losing her companion and playmate, and she’s made friends with the other cattos in the shelter.

We call Nori our parrot cat because she loves to perch on our shoulders! She also loves to follow the volunteers around. She’s still a playful, bouncy kitten with lots of energy and love to give, so we hope that she can find a home with other cats to play with, or with a family that can shower her with attention and love.

She is FIV and FELV negative, and has been sterilised. She has no known health conditions and she’s eating and toiletting well.

Trish, Noah & Castle welcome Jerry aka Jer aka Jerbear into their furry household!

When Trish & Noah wanted to welcome a furry addition to their family of three with Castle, a husky, theydecided on giving a rescue in need of another chance at a home life. Trish & Noah fell for Jerry on the
first visit, attracted to his bright brindle colors.

While they prepared to the best they could together with Castle, they were concerned with how Jerry,being the shy boy protective of his personal space, would adapt to a new home and his new brother.

Withtime, patience and lots of training, Jerry, now lovingly renamed Jer or Jerbear the cuddle bug, opened upand integrated well with the family. More importantly, he has gained a bestie in Castle, and Jer has grown a lot more confident with his big brother by his side. They bothlearned a lot from each other, both the great bits and the naughty bits. 🙊

Jer has charmed the family and friends with his quiet cuddly demeanor. He has also brought them lots oflaughter with his built-in propeller (tail) that gives the humans a walk-by spanking. And whenthere is a loud fart, Trish & Noah don’t have to second guess who it is… it is most likely Jerbear… Hefarts a lot! (And no, it’s not caused by any health issues! 😅)

Thank you Trish & Noah for giving Jer a beautiful life! Follow their adventures on ❤️

In May 2022, Don and family adopted two kittens, Pitou (the ginger) and Ash from us. Skylar, our pretty tortoiseshell cat aka the Tortie Hottie, came to the shelter in 2018 after she was rescued by Safe Harbour Advocates Collective. She was found meowing pitifully on a rooftop somewhere in Chinatown. Super affectionate, she loves people and interacting with people so much she would rather roll around the floor to ask for head rubs instead of eating her food when the volunteers feed her.

Skylar is sweet, fun, bubbly and lovey-dovey. She gets along well with other cats but she always has extra-extra love for the hoomans. Unfortunately due to her health conditions, we have accepted that it would be hard for us to rehome her.
Skylar is FIV positive and FeLV negative. She has a kidney condition which we’re managing with a renal diet and regular fluid treatment, and getting her to the vet for checkups.

Good Things Come in Pairs

The proverb "good things come in pairs" comes to mind when you look at the BaBa brothers - Alba & Elba.

Our awesome adopter HY fell in love on first “read” with the adorable and easy-going Alba. She was browsing social media that exciting day when she saw Alba napping on his hammock.

She set up a visit to the shelter and was also charmed by Alba’s brother, Elba, who warmed up to her instantly! And that’s how HY ended up being the home butler of two cats instead of one. After all, good things come in pairs - the BaBa brothers!

HY had concerns at first when we shared with her Alba & Elba were returned by their previous adopter who didn’t take too well with the brothers’ sibling rivalry. We shared with her details of what happened. After deliberation and even considering adopting only one first, HY decided to take the leap to bring home both brothers.

At home, HY had found the sibling rivalry acceptable as it was simple jealousy without hostility. It didn’t affect HY since she knows that it happens to us humans too. The boys are usually sweet with each other, grooming and playing together.

Life with the super adorable BaBas has been fun, amusing & rewarding - the brothers follow HY around her house like dogs when they are not busy enjoying what they love. HY found Alba to really love chicken and enjoy watching TV; while Elba the more active brother would provide a sustained head bump for a l o n g time to show his love to HY!

Cats & dogs are sometimes returned to the shelters, but at times, it’s through no fault of theirs. Like humans, chemistry and patience are important when getting together. Don’t be quick to judge, but learn to ask questions that are important to you & your lifestyle when you adopt! After all, there is always someone for every pawdy! You may want to check out our cats & dogs through the link in our bio - you may find just the right one (or two!) purrfect for you!

Hero, one of our lucky doggos, has found his loving furever home with Wen Xuan & family on 15 May 2021.

Having been with the shelter for more than 2 years, we are happy to see he has since blossomed with the love & care from his now furever family. He has even become best friends with his human sister, Wen Xuan! Wen Xuan sent us this absolutely charming essay and you can just tell how much love she has for her fur brother whom she lovingly calls her fur ball.

The family decided to adopt Hero who was then aged 4+ because of his easy-going, friendly and affectionate demeanour. Also, Hero got along very well with their little girl, and they are now best friends!

There are still a number of very adoptable doggos at MCDS today, and we hope they too can soon find their loving furever home. Reach out to us if you’re committed and interested! Help us help them find their loving furever homes!

Please join us at the exciting Metta art fundraiser ‘Paws & Paintbrushes’ on 22 & 23 July!

We need your support to raise funds for our recent new additions, medical funds and regular upkeep. We need a lot more financial support as 8 cutie cats and 1 adorable dog recently joined us, and our older residents with chronic conditions are incurring increasing medical costs.

For $120 per pax, you can look forward to a 2.5 hour fun-filled class taught by the talented Candice Phang

The course fees for the session include materials, a gift bag & snacks.

K4 is a snoozy boy who loves to nap in his hammock - but he definitely enjoys his playtime and will ask for attention and head rubs!

This time, we partnered with Stabilo Sg, Petit Atelier and Animal Human Alliance in an art workshop to illustrate our cattos and doggos, using Stabilo's latest art supplies. We featured these creative illustrations in our calendar and we hope you will love the results as much as we do!

To our awesome supporters who had been asking for our calendars, we apologise for the delay! Besides coping with our relocation, one of our sponsors pulled out for personal reasons, so we had to look for alternative arrangements.

We had a lovely visitor today! This sweet little 6 yr old Primary 1 girl Elis heard about us, and decided to raise $150 all on her own! She visited with her family today to present her contribution and had a nice walk around to meet our curious cattos and noisy doggos.

What a wonderful surprise for us! Amazing job, Elis!! You've made a big difference to us! ❤️❤️❤️🥳🥳🥳🥳

We urgently need help for a dog blood donor for our sweet 5yr old girl Vera. Vera suffered multiple seizures and collapsed earlier this afternoon (15/07) and her platelet counts is currently at Zero. Vera is now in a coma and is currently warded at Mount Pleasant Gelenggang.

Donor dog requirements include:
- 8 years old and below
- At least 20kg
- Not on any medications
- Up to date with vaccinations, flea & tick control & heartworm prevention
- DEA negative
