🩷 LUCKY LILY 🩷
Lily has been re-homed and has landed on all 4 paws!

The word went out to 35 GOSH families that GOSH-ee Lily was looking for a new home.

A huge THANK YOU goes to ALICE's family for making the big decision to adopt a second hound, especially a senior. There was a plan to have a 3 week trial time, but Lily won everyone over after only 3 days!

Now 12yr Lily and 10yr Alice can happily see out their retirement together in their matching collars, leads, harnesses, cosy beds and blankies 🩷🩷

We look forward to seeing Lily and Alice together on their next holiday with GOSH!

Just a Heads Up!
From 1st July 2023, GOSH! FEES will be changing to $50 per night (1 hound) and $90 per night (2 hounds). Pawdicures remain $30.
As always, our commitment to 100% loving and responsible greyhound care is not changing 🙂

Wow! THREE BIRTHDAYS this week!
Stevie turned 10, Alice turned 9 and GOSH!... turned 4 😀

A big THANK YOU to the 52 families who have entrusted their hounds into our care.

Over the last 4 years GOSH has minded 68 wonderful greyhounds over 272 holiday bookings... wow!

GOOD NEWS UPDATE: Bluey's family has FOUND him A NEW HOME! They had lots of enquiries, but finally found just the right person. We wish Blue all the very best for his new chapter in life and hope we see him again for a special holiday one day :)

Can anyone help?
BLUEY has been one of our GOSH! Grey Guests and is a beautiful and lovable boy. He is LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME as his owners are moving overseas. A healthy black greyhound, Blue is about 33-35kg and 5.5 years young. He is very good using open stairs as he lives in a highset house. If you are interested, or know of anyone who may be interested, please reply, send a message.

Here is his owners' heartfelt message....

"Our beautiful boy Bluey needs a forever home! Here is our story..

Unfortunately we are no longer able to keep our boy as we are unexpectedly moving overseas. We aren’t going for another few months, however we are wanting Blue to settle into his new home before we leave, so we know there are no troubles for him when we are gone.

We have thought of the option of taking him with us, however his one coat of fur will not stand the cold weather of where we are going, and his poor anxiety would not cope with the change and long haul flight. We have also thought of temporary accommodation while we are away, however as this will be for an extended period it would be unfair and selfish of us to ask for him back after he would settle into a new home and family.

He has brought so much joy and happiness to our lives especially our daughters who he has been the best big brother to since she was born.

About Bluey...

He is a big softy, very affectionate and friendly to everyone he meets.
He absolutely loves walks, sleeping, and lazing on the couch.
He is definitely a toilet trained indoor dog.
He hasn’t had much exposure to other dog breeds other than walking past on the foreshore. Definitely not for off-leash dog park plays but he seems wonderful around other greyhounds.

We received him 2 and a half years ago direct from a trainer, 1 week after he had his last race. At present, a couple of times a day he is very playful, but for the most of it you will find him snoozing on his bed or on the couch - in blissful retirement.

He is such a sweetheart. The most perfect dog. It breaks our heart that we have to find a new family for him, but we know he will bring so much joy to you as he has to us.

If you are seriously interested we would love to hear from you and would love a meet and greet to see if you too could fall in love with our boy!"

We are very SORRY but GOSH! is closing its holiday services to NEW families 😢

GOSH! would love to help every beloved houndie have a special holiday (and hate saying no), but we no longer have the capacity. Alas in the last 6 months we’ve had to decline over 55 enquiries.
With travel restrictions eased and requests for longer holidays, it is becoming increasingly harder to find availability for even our current families.

GOSH! apologises for this decision but hope new hounds find a Greyt Minder by considering these options:

Please HUG YOUR HOUNDS in memory of our gentle JETT who has crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈

The gentlest of souls we are missing our Bestest Boy so much 😢
Jett reached the age of 13 years and 8 months, a magnificent age for a greyhound.

After 2 months of limping it happened so quickly. Jett was very happy, heading off for his afternoon walk when he took a step and stumbled. Suddenly he was no longer able to bear weight on his front leg with the cancer, and his back legs started to give way too. As he could not walk or lie down without assistance we knew it was Jett's time. He had a very dignified, peaceful and loving end, in his own home and on his favourite bed 💛

It will feel strange welcoming our GOSH families without him. Jett was always so keen to see which hound was arriving; to say hello, and get his fill of new stories and smells!

RIP Jett, beloved pet. DOB 13-3-2008 to 26-11-2021

Sorry to say but GOSH! won’t be taking NEW client bookings at the present time. (All current bookings are fine.)

Sadly our gentle Jett is not going so well now 😞 At 13.5yrs he developed a limp and has since been diagnosed with bone cancer in his front left leg. He’s on a daily regime of pain relief meds and lots of extra love.

We know you will understand the awful end-of-life challenges ahead and will keep him in your thoughts 💛

If you missed watching the comedy Rosehaven last night (8 Sept), hop onto i-view to see it (30mins). Mostly set on Brightside Animal Sanctuary, an animal rescue farm in Tasmania. Wonderful - lots of happy greyhounds! Attached pic is of Alice, a beautifully natured girl, our recent new guest... she was adopted directly from Brightside just a few months ago! 💟
