Did you know that dogs secrete oils into their fur that interact with sunlight to produce vitamin D? Dogs ingest this vitamin when they lick it off their coat. Short coat dogs should avoid strong sunlight exposure to prevent skin burns and skin cancer. I protect my face by carrying Benjamin on my neck so I get that premium shade 😂. One curious fact about the one who is at the center of the logo for Luminidog- Benji, my VP.
Benji has been my running partner since the first day I took him from the shelter. Everyone said he was too little and too fragile and that I should have adopted a more “physically appropriate running dog”. Little did they know, this little guy never missed one day of running, under the sun, through the rain, though the mud. He trained me for my half marathon on my 50th bday. He taught me desire matters more than size, that loyalty cannot be broken and that the love between two souls is ever unshakable. He has run not only one half marathon, but three in his lifetime. He is 11 now and we still run everyday, he is always by my side and he still insists in beating me up the steps to my apartment 🤣. He has been my source of inspiration for Luminidog and he continues to work alongside with me at every pop-up, at every meeting, at every vendor visit. I am immensely grateful for being his caregiver and I hope to give back to all the community of furry kids the same love I have received from this fur ball. I know all of you who are blessed by the presence of a pup that you love with the same intensity as I do. I will break the tradition of posting my gratitude for ALL dogs before National Dog Day because that’s what we do here, at Luminidog- Dogs rule and the rest, we let drool .
Happy Dog day to each and every dog, keeping the wish that EVERY dog is touched by love EVERYDAY of their lives. ❤️🐶
