Ginger's Project Ginger's Project is hopefully the start of a beginning. not just for Ginger, but for many horses. I am deformed myself, and in the legs n feet too.
(1)

we have taken Ginger in, she came originally from a kill pen auction. she has moderate/severe leg deformities along with a few other conformational flaws. we will be doing as much as possible to help her stay comfortable for as long as possible. which is going to take time (which I have) and money (which I have some, but could use a lil help)

A little about me why this is so important to me. I u

nderstand how much this takes a toll on the body. I underwent 30 som foot surgeries to correct a severe case of bilateral club foot deformity. when that was no longer a viable option, they amputated my lower legs, first the left one, then the right one 13 yrs later. after 20 years of thinking I couldn't have horses I decided to try. idk what I was thinking, I do it better on prosthetics, than when I had both feet! i currently live on just under 30 acres in the country in a small Minnesota town. my goal is to start small, help out one or 2 horses at a time, and eventually grow big enough to help many., and even offer sanctuary for some that need a place that other people dont understand their needs. horses are my passion. and I plan to work for all the $ needed by selling hair jewelry and keepsakes. I have been making those for a year now, and sales are steady now. obviously horses take money. and I would openly accept any offers for donations. I am NOT non profit, so i will get all info together so donations can go straight to the vet or the farrier or wherever they donor wants it to go, so they know it's not just me trying to pull a scam. I do have a biz PayPal for my rings n stuff, but I will make a separate one for this. any one wanting to help, but cant monetarily....please like our page and SHARE. sharing is one of the biggest helps possible! the more eyes that see, the more likely someone will want to help. thank you so very much for your time!!!

Our new rescue has made the trip from the Colorado kill pen to here no worse from wear, a little scared, but she will have time to decompress. She looks way younger than I expected., but that's ok.

They called her Chills
The kids think she should be FancyPants

Let's take a vote! I like both lol.

I have been super busy. Between making rings, and dealing with horses...I'm only one person. Supposed to have help coming out today...we will see what happens.

We got in a stallion on quarantine...he became a gelding today,

We were transport for a beautiful little spotted pony,

The gang all got their feet done. If I didn't get their pic I was too busy helping keep them calm.

All is well.

Check out the biz page. All ring orders guaranteed before Christmas need to be in by Oct 31!
Running a sale now....all profits fund my ability to care for these rescues

We have grown with yet another project . Patience came out of the kill pens, is in very rough shape, but is in very good spirits. He's very sweet, n gentle. I'm so glad we had the help n support of Serenity Horse Rescue & Training to help us get him out of there and get him home. He has a long road ahead of him....

Ginger got a make over today. The burrs were so bad in her mane, I roached it. She seems quite relieved. She's gaining weight nicely, and healthy coat is replacing dead coat.

New pix of the dos compadres. Starting to see the expression on gingers face relax, and she's filling in quite a bit better. She's starting to look like a horse again. She's still tight lipped.

Armani is eating out of the had of quiet ppl that talk softly to him. He's starting to relax more and not so jumpy about everything around him . He comes running for treats.

We are making progress, even in this heat.

Ginger came to us with a pasturemate. His name is Armani. Armani is a beautiful Quarab gelding.. He is said to have been broke to ride at 2 years-old, and then he injured his eye, and he was put to pasture and left. He has become very hypervigilant about everything around him.. After giving him a week to decompress he is starting to let me touch him, his halter is sliding off, but he won't let me put it back over his ear, and I don't want to break the trust I have built. But for the most part is untouchable. He is mostly blind in one eye, which is making him very spooky. We believe he only sees shadows out of that eye, and that it may be in his better interest for him to have that eye removed. He is young still, 5 ish years old, so this will actually give him a better ability to handle life. Removal of the eye and meds and everything is going to be right around$450, which is very reasonable. It does add to our list of needs. I do have an account # if anyone wanted to help and send donation straight to the vet, which is perfectly acceptable. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated, and very much welcome. Thank you all very much for helping us help the horses!!! I will post a few more pix of Armani as well. Please share too.

Even if you cannot donate, you can still help by sharing. Sharing is caring, and will help more people see it. Ginger's Project is dedicated to helping any equine in need! We donated a small amount, can you match our $10 donation to help her horse? We will always help our fellow equines at the very least by sharing.

So the farrier came, today thank you to https://www.facebook.com/adam.steinfeldt , and as good as Ginger was for him (which was amazing!), it was just too much distractions and way too hard for her to hold her weight on 3 legs. We will be transporting her to the farrier, and using stocks. This way the belly bands can help support her weight for the whole process. But of course, its extra cost, as we d**g currently have a truck capable of pulling nor a trailer to pull, so he will come get her and bring her back. She will also have special shoes made, so that it encourages her foot to roll over more naturally. I will be listing more items for sale on Ebay to raise the funds, anyone who wishes to donate, please pm me.

Meet Ginger. She is a yearling almost 2 year old quarter horse. She has deformed front legs. It looks like they both have been twisted at the knee. She walks with no limp, so for now we are going to start with corrective showing. Farrier will be here on sunday, and we have 2 days left to raise the funds. He hasn't told me yet how much, but said prob round about $150. If anyone wants go help offset this cost, please pm me. I dont have everything set up yet.
