Dogs reach the cognitive ability of a 5 year old by the time they reach adulthood. Let this fact sink in while you watch their reactions as their owners drive away. 🥺💔

I understand that they’re are a number of situations that are 100% justified to have to give up your dog. However, I also believe that this should be one of the hardest decisions to make & if it’s not, remind yourself of the above fact.

Below is a text that a client sent me & proof that what I teach works in many situations, including possibly saving your puppy’s LIFE!

“I have a story to tell you... It was a sudden very scary moment but also I was so proud of June after I calmed down from freaking out.

Quinn and I were out front watering some milkweed we bought. I didn't realize Quinn had left the front door a crack open. Well June used her nose to move the gate in the kitchen over so she inched through that then she got out the front door!!! I was standing there with Quinn then saw June out in the front yard with us, I went from clam to immediate panic, I yelled "June target" she ran right to me bumped my hand and I grabbed her. I brought her inside praise, praise, praise and gave her treats reward for listening SO well!!! I know the training is all worth it but in that moment I was crying grateful for her knowing that fail safe cue and her coming back. So thank you for helping us learn and working with us and June! SO grateful!”

Free Tip: Have 2 toy boxes for your furry friend & rotate them out biweekly. This is a simple trick to make the same toys always seem “new” to your pup. Just make sure, if your dog has a very favorite toy, or what I refer to as a “baby doll”, do not ever take that one away. 🧸🦴🎾

Dog toys are an excellent addition to any home for many reasons. By having their own “stuff”, they will become more comfortable in the home. Toys are also boredom alleviaters, chew deterrents, an interactive way to give meals, and a great training tool.
