Just got back from the groomer and this fool wants to go for a walk in the rain and play in the mud. I have never seen him so insistent that he pokes through the curtain and climbs on the window. Must really hate being clean and smelling good.

Too hot outdoors but nice and cool inside. Pair that with a full belly makes for a content bully ❤️

Sir found some crunchies. After what took forever with no thumbs he finally managed to open the bag.

It's been hot outdoors so a nice cool chair will do.

So it's been the necessary time to heal from Sir's neuter that he could go to the groomers and get a proper spa day this.morning. Clearly we were having to much fun to worry about our white coat getting dirty.

When we found out about Kaiser last week, we thought we would be in a position of not knowing any of his history as is often the case when a dog is picked up as a stray. The shelter had actually microchipped him when he was found roaming around and brought in back in 2020. However, when he came in last week, the owner did not respond to any emails, messages or phone calls from both the shelter and microchip company. Neither was allowed to disclose the owner’s name to us until after his stray hold was up but the conundrum was that we needed to have him out of the shelter as soon as his hold was up because they are so full. One of coordinator’s, a former researcher, knew there had been posts made when he was found by a good Samaritan and was determined to find out some background information on Kasier. She joined the local page for lost and found animals and read through all the comments on the post. One person had commented that she knew his owner. Our coordinator sent a message in the hopes of finding out the owner’s name. A few days went by and alas that person responded back. She did not though give the owner’s name, this person just let us know that the owner was an older woman and that Kaiser was too much for her to handle and she didn’t know what to do with him to burn off his energy. Eventually she put us in touch with the owner’s son. Well after talking with him, it seems that Kaiser was actually his dog. He is an adult living with his senior mom but is home less and less leaving the responsibility of Kaiser on his mom. He had him since he was 9 weeks old. He and his mom had no plans of reclaiming him at the shelter. We continued on working to find the right home for him. A former adopter, Heidi, mom of the late Lucky Lucy - Adopted, got in touch to let us know that she and her family wanted to bring Kaiser home. She only lives 2 hours away from the shelter and could go get him today, the day he needed to leave the shelter. A short bit ago, Kaiser was sprung from the shelter and is now on his way home. I think the expression on his face says it all.
