I'm going to be taking a break from the rescue, I won't be taking in anymore animals for a while, all the animals in my care will stay, and me and my family will be caring for them. I need some time to travel, find myself, and eventually find a permanent home for me, my animals, and my rescue. The rescue will be going through a name change and a few other changes, I'll also be looking over the changing laws in the states, so thank you everyone who has trusted and supported us, and I ask for the continued support through the changes, I will be back, I just need this time to grow and mature. I'll continue doing updates on the animals I have. Thank you everyone for your patience and support.

Thought I should introduce our newest family member, thus is BullDozer, our sulcata tortoise, right now he's just a baby, but sulcatas grow massive, they are the third largest tortoise, and the largest mainland tortoise, they can get around 3 feet long, a little over a foot tall, and well over 150 pounds, they can live over 50 years, sometimes approaching 100, not as big or as old as Galapagos and Aldabra tortoises, but still equally impressive.

Here's a sneak peak at the projects I've been working on lately, I'm building ponds/enclosures for each outdoor turtle I keep, and one for a species I'll hopefully be able to keep in the near future.

9 month update on River, our little river cooter.

A little over a week ago someone trespassed onto our private property, they took a dip in my pond, and released two turtles, one has been recovered, but the other one, Mary our cumberland slider, is still missing, I still have hope that she'll pop up somehow, but it's unlikely, I'm sorry to have to share this sad news with everyone, but with the good comes the bad, thank you everyone for the support.

Unfortunately there's a massive outbreak of a mysterious deadly disease that's effecting a majority of the local bird population, do your part to protect your local wildlife, and to protect people's pets.

Ohioans are being asked to cease feeding birds until the mortality event has concluded and to clean feeders and birdbaths with a 10% bleach solution.

Right now I'm in Texas on vacation, we're spending time with family and celebrating my dad's life in the town he grew up in, so I'll be taking a couple weeks break, thank you all for the support, I look forward to sharing the cool turtles we see down here.

This little midland painted turtle was brought to a fellow turtle loving friend of mine, he unfortunately couldn't keep the little one so they were brought to me, this little one does have a name yet, so if you think of any put them down in the comments, and Happy turtle day!

A good friend of mine brought a couple of his turtles over, unfortunately he couldn't care for them anymore, the male is Romeo, the female is Juliette.

After doing the spring clean of the pond, I was able to get a couple pictures of our big female red-eared slider Buddy basking, normally she's a shy basker, but today she let me come right up to her.

Unfortunately sometimes animals get hurt, and that happened with one of the little ones I care for, part of Tank's tail was bitten off by Crush, this is an unfortunate result of trying to keep snappers together, but with time and treatment he is healing and getting better.

This is one of our older hens, she has a bad toe, when we got her it was broken and still healing, she is a white Plymouth rock, she doesn't have a name yet, so if anyone has suggestions, put them down in the comments.

This is Quasimodo, Quasimodo is our male mosquitofish, he was born with a hunched back, he acts like a regular fish, and he's nice and healthy, he lives with ZZ.

This little one is Zigzag, or ZZ for short, she is a female guppy that was born with a genetic defect, her spine is in a zigzag kind of way, (hence her name) even with her disability she is strong, healthy, and acts just like a regular fish, I had trouble catching her to put her in a separate tank.
