Did you know one of our very own volunteers is one of Santa's helpers? Come see him at Pet Supplies Plus in Muncie on Dec 14th from 1-4 p.m. and have a photo taken with Santa! ALL pets are welcome, scaley, furry, and anything in between!

Sometimes animals break our hearts in the worst ways...

You do not know heartbreak until you've sat with them, held them as they took their last breath, kissed them one last time, told them what a good boy or girl they were, even if they couldn't hear you... Until they've completely stolen your heart just to leave it in pieces. As someone who often connects on a deeper level with animals than people, this one really hits home.

I will be forever grateful for the amazing pet, loved family member, and overall spectacular ambassador you were for Scalez and Tailz Exotics. You touched the hearts of many, including myself and many of my volunteers. You were so very loved by many, even if you didn't know, even if that's not the kind of love you could feel or give back. You will be severely missed. You were never and will never be, "just a snake." 🖤🐍

What We’ll Be Doing:

• Creating fun, reptile-inspired crafts
• Handling live snakes in a safe and supervised environment

A lot of folks think that because Marshmallow is our mascot that she's at the root of Scalez and Tailz Exotics, but...

It was actually THIS beautiful girl that was my very FIRST ambassador. I've owned reptiles for many years and kept a variety of snakes and lizards.

So, let me share Lemondrop's story with you.

This big gal was actually about 3-3.5ft long when I received her. She was a rescue, and I don't mean the kind of "rescue" where she was rehomed by her previous owner. Lemondrop was a TRUE rescue. She was taped inside of a BOOT BOX and left with a live rat that actually chewed down into her back in several places. Thankfully, she was able to receive veterinary care and make a full recovery! Now, she's a very loved ambassador and personal pet at Scalez and Tailz Exotics, and an excellent reminder of why we do what we do. 🖤
