The story of Lily and Dolly, Food Lion ferals of Lenoir From scraps to traps: The rescue of Lenoir Food Lion ferals Lily & Dolly

16/07/2023

I have had a very hard time getting back to this account. The girls are making progress although VERY slow. I'd like to post more photos and videos;h however, anything they notice in your hands, any quick movements or sudden noise causes them to retreat. They're always happy to see me and will eat from my hand. Lily has become more trusting that Dolly.
I've actually got in some chin scratching on Lily while hand feeding her and a few pets here and there. Dolly is far more skittish still.
If I just sit in silence Lily will lay down less than 2 feet away from me. Dolly is curious but still keeps her distance. This will be a long road.....
But, they can and will be rehabilitated and learn to trust again. They'll learn not all humans are evil, and not every human action is to harm them. It's a day to day process. Some days they progress, while others they digress. Patience is key. Ultimately, they'll become wonderful well socialized girls ready for a forever home! 🥰

They stepped up for not only Lily and Dolly Do-loly, but the pup that ran with them (which belonged to Lily) and was severely injured when hit by a car. Now called Madalyn, this pup suffered a collapsed lung, broken right hip, hairline fracture of left hip, and broken pelvis. Miraculously she survived and ABLAR has stepped up to care for her as well. The following photos are the day she got hit, and now. Although still feral, she is in foster care and will be undergoing surgery soon for her extensive injuries. Please donate if you can, even the smallest amount helps!
I will tell the story here of her Mother and sister, I am currently fostering to rehabilitate them.
