The Pewabic Student Sale is Saturday, May 4, from 10a-5p. Here’s a little preview of what I’ll have in the sale. 🏺
For the last two years, I’ve been learning in their mindfulness-based art therapy class. It’s been a really rewarding way to connect with inner curiosity, creativity, and calm.
30% of the sale of our student pieces go back to the Pewabic Education Studio to support the incredible work they’re doing. They’re such a great asset to the community, and I’m so grateful to be there! 🙏🏼
Plan to get there early for the best selection. Hope you
can make it out for a lovely day in the courtyard. The store and museum will be open, too. 🦋🐞

We have company coming this week so I wanted to give the front pots a tiny refresh. 🐰
I replaced some of the spent bulbs with a unique heuchera and some lady’s mantle.
This sweet terracotta bunny butt I made for spring came back from firing this week. Love love.
Hope you all find little things to bring you joy this weekend! 🌷

So happy with how this little batch of ruffled vases came out! Cannot wait to fill them with anemones, ranunculus, and all the spring bloom cuties. They’ll be available in May. 💐💖

If you’re celebrating love next week I just added some new everlasting arrangements to my shop. 💐
Locally-grown, air-dried flowers arranged in my handbuilt ceramic vases. You’ll love the ease of arranging into this vessel once fresh flower season rolls around, too. No mechanics necessary!
Skip the imported, chemical laden 🌹 in favor of a more sustainable option this holiday and always. 🙏🏼
Just 3 available. Delivery only. All the details are in my shop, but please message me with questions.
❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Today we are halfway between the winter solstice and spring equinox! ✨
Imbolc, a Gaelic festival celebrating the returning light and awakening of the natural world, is celebrated on February 1. While we still have plenty of winter weather ahead here in SE Michigan, little hints of spring are just around the corner.
Sustainable moment of creativity: freeze some of your dried flower stash & water in a bundt pan or any freezer-safe vessel you have on hand. Enjoy your ice sculpture in all its forms as it melts. 🌸💖
Are you seeing any signs of spring where you live?

The sunshine + my neighbor’s wind chimes was just a magical little moment. ☀️
ICYMI I’m doing a small seconds sale in my stories tonight at 7p Eastern time.
They’re all functional ceramics pieces, but each have some flaws. I would love to find good homes for them so I can make room on my seed starting shelf. It’s that time!
Platters will be local porch pickup only. Everything else can be shipped. All the details will be in my stories tonight.
Thanks for looking ☺️

Happiness in December:
A much-needed walk with a friend.
Any and all sunshine.
A dandelion.
Wild yam seeds.
Euonymus atropurpureus berries.
New and old beaver activity.
Feathers and bones in owl (?) poop. 🤷🏻♀️
Frost on mullein.
Grateful for a chilly, but beautiful morning to get outdoors. ✨✨✨

My first @potswapofficial experience! So cool!
It’s basically a secret santa for potters. You send a package including a piece of your own work to one person, and a different person sends you something back.
Everything Emily sent me is so beautiful, and I’m obsessed with the bowl glazes. Tutu was thrilled to have new bubble wrap — maybe not so much the lipgloss kiss on her forehead. 🤷🏻♀️
Thank you to @rdceramics and @5linespottery the organizers of #potswap2023!

I truly love the schedule and routine of the growing season, but it can be tricky to sneak away during the summer. We are trying to make up for it this fall with long weekends away when possible. 💙
Made a flying trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to visit my dad this past weekend.
Depending on the destination, things are closed or have limited hours during the off-season but we are all good with just lakes, rocks, trees and the beautiful skies.
Pictured:
• Straits State Park
• M-134, The Scenic
• Brevort Sand Dune Beach
• I tried to include the Cut River Bridge, but my reel is skipping these so I’ll put them in my stories.
What’s your fave UP destination?

A few years back someone suggested it’s ok for this lil account of mine to just be a soft place for folks to land and enjoy beautiful flowers for a moment. I took that to heart. 🙏🏼
Relax, breathe, and #flowerchurch with me.
How I build an arrangement:
1) greens like scented geranium, mountain mint & eucalyptus
2) largest focal flowers like dahlias
3) supporting flowers like zinnias
4) spikes like plume celosia
5) textures like broom corn, grasses & millet
6) funky fillers like gomphrena
I always make one-sided arrangements for us because they live on top of the fridge where the cat doesn’t venture in her older age. 😼

This monarch looked freshly eclosed this morning. Fueling up to head south, I hope. Safe travels, friend. 🦋✌🏼

The most important things I did today:
Watched milkweed seeds blow away in the wind.
Listened to the waves.
Watched yellow leaves fall.
Visited with an Eastern Comma butterfly. (I didn’t get to see the underside of the wings to confirm, but I only see 3 wing spots here not 4?)
There’s something beautiful about the decline of plants in the fall. I happen to love the appearance of all our spider friends, too. Can you spot the one in the lighthouse pic? 🕷️

Thank you to The Rabbit Hole for inviting me along to talk about their Grand Opening festivities happening tomorrow — Saturday, September 30, from 10a-5p!
50 indoor/outdoor vendors, a coffee truck, tarot card reading, and, of course, lots of my freshly cut bouquets!
Come on out! 3048 Sashabaw Rd, Waterford, MI
Homecoming blooms 🩵
A small bouquet and bout for these beautiful young people to celebrate homecoming over the weekend.
Thanks to my guy’s nieces for keeping me in the loop of what’s on trend. 😉🌸

I’m delivering the final spring subscription bouquets as fast as the sunflowers are ready.🌻
That five weeks with higher than average temps but not much rain definitely stalled them, but they’re showing their beautiful faces now.
You’ll notice most of the sunflowers are closed when you receive your bouquet, but have no fear they will open in your home. Sunflowers are just another of the locally-grown blooms that are harvested before they’re fully developed.
Our brains so often reach for flowers in full bloom because that’s when they’re the most beautiful, but when harvested at the right stage we can enjoy them longer.
Spring subscribers if you don’t receive your delivery email from me yet this week it will be early next week. 💐

Local folks, I’m participating in the Pewabic Student Sale this Saturday, May 6, from 10a-5p. Hope you can stop by and check out all the cool work by current students and staff, too. It’s supposed to be a beautiful day. 🌞
I leave blooms on doorsteps twice weekly for 12 weeks in the summer, and it kind of blows my mind to see it all put together like this. Spring and summer flower subscriptions areopen to everyone tomorrow, November 1. Choose from weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly deliveries. Bouquet or arrangement. More info will go out to email subscribers tomorrow. Just a reminder to 2022 subscribers that today is the last day to renew using the special links I sent via email. I have so much locally-grown goodness planned for next season. Can’t wait to share it with you! 💐
Excuse my shaky hands 🌹
It was my first season growing garden roses, but the learning experience isn’t over.
With our site conditions I decided it would be best to grow them in large containers, so I’m still deciding how I will overwinter them.
They both bloomed prolifically, but these are the first I’ve cut to enjoy indoors.
This is Koko Loko. I love how it turns pink as it ages on the plant. 💖
Do you love garden roses?
