We got our second leg this weekend 🤩
I was not optimistic moments leading up to us entering the ring, but he showed up for me when it mattered. This dog is always impressing me 🩵
On top of earning our first leg of SR3, Klepto also placed third in the mill race competition that followed. Holy cow! He was so confident and actually excited to work on the mill. I wasn’t sure how he would do since he can be a baby over loud noises and this mill was super loud compared to the one he’s been on previously. I also have never asked him to run without a toy present. To say he blew me away on Sunday is an understatement! 🩵
On Sunday Arson got the chance to compete in his first Mill Race competition! He’s never been on a mill without me having a toy to bait him, we had some slow moments but I’m so pleased with how he did. It works out well that he enjoys biting me for funnsies 👹 We managed to earn a qualifying score with 60+ revolutions 🙌 He was a little nervous at first with this mill being louder than ones we’ve used previously, but he did better each round!

Our first time trialing under @southshoregrc, Klepto passed his first leg of SR3 on our first attempt with an 80 yesterday! I am so beyond proud of how far we’ve come. Last year, April 1st was our very first trial up at Jay’s in Portland Maine. I was sooo under prepared and didn’t have a strategy. We pointed out during the first section when Klepto was too distracted in a new environment to middle and I forgot my left from my right. Yesterday, Klepto showed up to a brand new facility and was ready to work, I also came prepared with a game plan! I’m blown away by his performance, we had a small hiccup with barking during one of our tactical heels, but when a full on picnic was set up he didn’t even acknowledge it! Just a month ago at the last trial we lost 5 points for drooling in a person’s lap over food 😅 This time around we lost 15 points when he stands up from his down, he put himself back into position which is what saved us from an NQ. He broke this due to being a little spooked (rightfully so) over the noise and specifically the walker. We also lost 5 points for our in motion call to tactical heel being a little sloppy

I am so so proud of how well Klepto controlled himself during our qualifying SR2 run. On Saturday 11/4 we earned our first leg of SR2 with a score of 91 points! This was our second attempt and I am very pleased with the progress I was able to achieve from our last trial on 09/23, where Klepto decided he wanted to scream at me during our entire tactical heel 😅
