HYMAN the big juicy roach fed to a large tarantula!
Featuring Hyman the most hated roach and Callisto the curly hair tarantula!
We had a new intake over the weekend. We have been trying to come up with the words to use while talking about her. Her name is Perry. She is a 50 year old ornate box turtle. She has severe deformities from improper husbandry. She was in need of an emergency beak and nail trim. She can barely walk due to her splay legs. She was only fed cat food and blueberries. We do not blame her owners as they did not know better and wanted to give her to us as they knew she wasn’t getting proper care. But we blame the reptile pet trade. We blame the improper spreading of husbandry. Please if you are looking to get a pet, make sure you research their needs a head of time. Perry may be with us for the rest of her life due to her special needs. Please follow along for her journey
*transferred to Mainely Rat Rescue*
We had 2 rats dropped off to us yesterday as their owner said she was going to release them in a field. They are free to a good home that’s approved. They are both females. Does not come with supplies. Must have setup already. They are pet only!
We have gotten a lot of inquiries recently about what invertebrates/arachnids we have for adoption. At this time the only invertebrates we have for adoption are hissing cockroaches. We adopt them out in at least pairs. They are really easy low maintenance beginner invertebrates. If you’re interested in adopting some hissing cockroaches you can apply on the website!
Exciting News!
Adoption forms are now live on our site! So if you are considering taking home one of our wonderful animals the process of doing so is now available all in one place!

Chance has made a huge jump in progress. He showed interest in bugs!!!! He grabbed a worm although the chewing aspect is still difficult. This has been the farthest he has gone with food!!! Way to go chance!
Chance update!
Chance can finally drink water by himself! We figured out a good set up for him, at first we were using a shallow dish but he can't bend his neck like that so a medium dish with some big rocks in it so he doesn't drown has worked wonders.
Hes loving his rehab baths and maybe one day he will use his back legs but for now he's doing great with his fronts!
He still hasn't gotten eating down but has eaten his critical care out of bowl!
Here's a video of him doing a run in the bath. We raise the water so the deep end is barely above his head and the shallow end is very minimal. He is supervised 100% of the time and has been learning how to ask to come out and climbs up on your hand with ease.
Let’s make some Monitor food… Not recommend for human consumption.
Chance keeps getting better everyday🖤
