• The UCSO K9 team is sad to be loosing a great member of our team. K9 Chase will be retiring due to medical reasons. K9 Chase will live the good life at home with his handler Deputy Ryan. Thanks for your service and hard work Chase.

Officer Carpenter and K9 Cerberus attended the Veni Vidi Vici K9 training seminar this week in Fredericksburg, VA. The training was hosted by Polaris K9 and The_Hero_Academy.

The training included realistic scenario situations such as vehicle interdiction, vehicle extraction, gun fire work, apprehension, vehicle deployment, overcoming physical obstacles during structure searches and apprehensions and much much more.

These type of trainings help K9 teams see where improvement is needed and where the teams excel. It also teaches K9 teams training techniques to improve performance.

Thank you to Jess Vrooman from Polaris K9 for putting on a great training seminar and to the Hero Academy for being a generous host and providing facilities.

We also would like to thank ARES Athletics for sponsoring which allowed our team to attend the seminar.

🎄 Support The Hero Academy's Christmas Tree Fundraiser 🎄

Dear Community,

The Hero Academy is thrilled to be a part of 's 6th Annual Christmas Tree Fundraiser, and we need your support in two important areas!

1. Donations Under Our Tree: We're creating a beautiful display in the Pohanka showroom, and we'd love to fill it with donated gift cards , gift baskets, or products. Your contribution will be listed and celebrated on social media, showing our heartfelt appreciation. Have unused gift cards? Are you a small business owner with gift cards or extra products to share? Your generosity will make a difference!

These are needed by 20 November - we can pick up or DM us for details .

2. Join Our Gala on December 9th: Pohanka is hosting a fantastic gala on December 9th, and we're selling tickets for $50 each. These tickets include dinner and an open bar. Gala attendees will have the opportunity to bid on the Christmas trees. Small businesses often participate, as they can purchase a tree and use the gifts underneath for employees or holiday gift exchanges—all while enjoying a tax deduction.

Your support, whether through sharing this post or participating in our fundraiser, means the world to us at The Hero Academy. Your contributions help us continue our mission of providing service dogs to Veterans, First Responders, and their families at no cost to the recipient.
