Hillsdale MI friends. We found this sweet pup on the corner of Addison and Jerome Rd. We were able to get her in the car and get her home so animal control could pick her up. She had a limp and her face was pretty swollen, but other than that she was in good spirits and a really sweet baby. She had a friend with her, but couldn't get a great look at her. Resembled a golden mixed with a beagle. She's still in the loose. She didn't appear to have any limp or injury, but was nervous around us and didn't want to come near. Please keep an ear out for thier family! I'm sure they're missing them terribly right now! And it's a good reminder to microchip your pups or make sure they have a collar with your address. Or both!

According to the article the illness that has been affecting dogs in northern Michigan is parvovirus, and the affected dogs didn't have a history of vaccination. Parvo is highly contagious and highly deadly, please make sure you're breeder has vaccinated against it, and provides records of those vaccinations. And always follow up with your veterinarian to make sure your pup gets all the vaccines it needs as they grow.

The affected dogs were stricken with parvovirus and did not have a history of complete vaccination, state officials said Wednesday.
