Nala -
Working on solid place training - and building confidence ❤️
First session with us today with Mr Rex.
Working on reactivity 🐾
We finished the sessions with a few wins and a lot of handler education to help this boy and he’s amazing mum !
Looking forward to watching this pair further succeed !
he’s reactivity to bikes is well you might say BAAD , i got a snippet to show at the end of our lesson , still a reaction but nothing like the explosive behavior when we first saw bikes.
A bike at a stand still is enough to send him to another planet 🌎.
Super happy with this progression from the very start of this session.
We will see huge changes in the next weeks coming !
The way this fella sounds and lunges towards bikes is enough to make the average person nervous if you were ridding by , but the reality is there absolutely no aggression in this dog , the drive to want to chase is so high and the frustration of not being able to get to the thing is what makes him sound very grrrr ,
Get you a dog trainer who rides the bike on a flat flat tire for your lesson 😂
Messages like this is why I do this job ❤️🐾
Results means happy dogs and happy clients !
SOUND ON 🔔 😂
What does a fulfilled dog look like ?
David is a perfect example 😂

One of my favorite training tools I use is open and closed fist for creating stability in positions -
Keeping communication super clear to the dog at all times and this trick works a treat!
This is the first time Dave’s ever done standing in motion , this is our first ever rep so keep your eyes open for the progression in this exercise !
Dave already knows how to stand from a still position - hand under neath he’s mouth for he’s legs to kick back is how I taught it , he also knows that a closed fist means the keep the position stable - so I put it all together for our first time teaching a stand in motion and I’m pretty happy with the results !
( don’t pay attention to the random noises I make when I train my dog) 😂

Charlie the working line cocker , oh my goodness I’m enjoying working with this man !
We are doing a board and train just to fix up some loose lead walking skills , for a little dog he nearly pulled me over when he first got here 😅
But I thought I’d play around with the scent tubes to ( spaniels have absolutely amazing noses , it’s a fabulous way to genetically fulfill your dog to )
This is he’s first session he picked it up very fast , we free shaped this exercise ,
I use a marker word ( yes )
I then also use a (nope ) to let him know to try again , but it’s not a “ NO” because he’s not doing anything wrong and absolutely no reason for a correction.
I would usually always use a clicker as it’s far clearer to the dogs when we are working exercises like this but I couldn’t find any clickers 😭

Kevin !!!
Working on human and dog reactivity!
What a killer session from this pair ,
Handling skills are coming along nicely ,
Kevin blew us all away today with how well he went with a lot of added distractions.
Mr David got put he’s loud mouth to good use in this session , helping kev learn to be cool calm and collected no matter what other dogs are doing around him !
It’s one thing to walk past a super neutral dog , it’s another walking past a dog that’s barking and pulling on the end of the lead and unfortunately in real life our dogs need to be able to walk past All kinds of different dogs !
All part of how I proof our training further

SO MUCH PROGRESS!
To say I’m proud of these guys would be an understatement !
Marley is the most beautiful am staff but unfortunately struggles with being super reactive to other dogs.
What did we have to fix first ? Our handling and loose lead walking,
Helping the dog understand what pressure is when it’s on and what is is when it’s OFF
I can’t believe the session we had today she blew us all away with how well she did!
I am not a one session I will fix your dog type of trainer it’s a process you having to stay committed to , helping our owners handle their dog in all these different situations - understanding our dogs in all this different situations is the ONLY way we get LONG term success. My goal is to share as much knowledge as I can to help our clients long term ❤️🐾
These guys put in nothing but hard work mid sessions and strive to understand their dogs better and it shows !
Happy doggos , fulfilled doggos , happy owners and HAPPY trainer 😍
Quick shout out to my amazing David and Brooke for handling him in this session for me !

Being a good trainer is being good at dogs, but it’s also being good at humans to !
If you own a reactive dog you know the overwhelming feeling of stress and anxiety every walk.
Poor Jem has gotten really bad rope burn from nova being reactive towards other dogs and pulling like a freight train on the lead.
Walks where we got out the front door to only turn straight back around because it all got to much.
Nervous/ anxious handler = nervous dog
Calm cool collected handler = calm doggo
Educated handler = calm doggo
I can’t stress the importance of staying grounded for our pets , sometimes we just need a gentle reminder when we are working our dogs to take a deep BREATHE ground yourself ,
We can’t work/ problem solve ourselves if our own emotions are heightened - so don’t expect to work your dog through these things if you’re not grounded yourself.
Really cool to see in this session once handler starts to get overwhelmed and stressed the dogs body Language and behavior starts to heighten to !
Once we bring it back down the dog starts to relax to , and we can work through all the triggers and get successful reps!
crazy right ?
