Our Story
My name is Lee North. I am based in Stevenage and offer a licensed and insured home dog boarding service (licensed via Stevenage Borough Council to 31st December each year - and renewable annually). I am also insured for pet taxi service. I work closely with Sheryl of Sheryls Sittting Service (SSS) (a Stevenage-based Doggy Day Care service, offering boarding, pet & house sitting, animal taxi, home visits and an event chaperone service) and take referrals primarily from SSS. Occasionally I will take other bookings subject to my availability. Please make all enquiries regarding boarding your dog(s) at Happy Hounds Dog Boarding via Sheryl who can be contacted on: 07513 659 778 or on [email protected] or find her on Facebook at Sheryls Sitting Service (SSS). For dogs referred to me for boarding I am able to provide “home from home” care with minimum disruption to your dog’s daily routine - going for walks as normal and keeping to feeding routines. Your dog will live in our house during boarding as part of the family (being my husband and myself) and get lots of special care and attention while you are away. I only board to two dogs at any one time (from the same household) and you can be sure your dog(s) will be well looked after and in safe hands. Following referral, I will arrange for you to meet me at my home, together with your dog(s) to see where potentially they would be staying and go over any special requirements that may need to be catered for. The no-obligation consultation is free and should you wish to make a booking, we would complete the necessary paperwork and a 20% deposit would be needed to secure the booking. Please allow up to one hour for this meeting. The garden at the house is fully secure and my home is close to Fairlands lakes and woods, which is ideal for walks. I have a great love of dogs and during my adult life I have owned several (mainly rescue) dogs, including two Cocker Spaniels, a Gordon Setter, a Lurcher, and an English Bull Terrier Cross. I also helped share in the of my daughter’s Rottweiler over many years. I have always wanted to work with dogs and having given up employment and no longer having my own dog, I started volunteering with Sheryls Sitting Service (SSS) in 2015, helping to care for up to 12 dogs a day – playing, exercising the dogs and giving lots of cuddles. Having enjoyed being with the dogs so much and while still volunteering, at the end of 2016 I decided to set up my own dog boarding business which I thoroughly enjoy.
