✨ Odin’s Fairytale Ending ✨

Today is a day of celebration because this sweet boy is finally getting his happily-ever-after! 🏡🐾 Odin, formerly known as Happy Harold, is leaving his old life behind and stepping into a brand new chapter with his forever family. ❤️

When he first arrived at the shelter, he was just a scrawny 22 pounds, but thanks to some much-needed TLC (and maybe a few extra snacks 🍖), he’s now a well-insulated 54-pound butterball—healthy, happy, and oh-so-loved! 💪🏼🐶

After becoming a long-term resident at the shelter, Odin was at risk—through no fault of his own. But thanks to an amazing foster and a whole village of advocates, he got the second chance he so desperately deserved. And now? He’s landed in the perfect home with one of our wonderful former adopters! 🎉

Odin is off to an incredible life with Taylor, Ryan, and his new brother Auggie! 🐕🐾 We can’t wait to see all of his adventures unfold and watch him truly blossom in his forever home.

Huge thank you to everyone who played a part in making this possible—from the shelter staff, his incredible foster, and everyone who cheered him on. This is what rescue is all about. ❤️

🚨 Why Leashing Your Dog is Important 🚨

The past 24 hours have been chaotic, but I want to share a crucial reminder: Leash your dogs. This isn’t just about following the rules – it’s about keeping your dog, others, and the community safe.

On Thursday evening, my 10-month-old, 12-pound pug, Lila, was unexpectedly attacked by a neighbor’s dog. Why? Because the other dog wasn’t leashed.

This particular dog has a known history of being reactive, but their owner exited their apartment without securing them. Within seconds, the dog lunged at Lila, grabbing hold of her. Thankfully, both dogs are okay, but this entire situation could have been avoided if the other dog had been leashed.

Now, let me be clear: I’m not blaming the other dog or their owner. I know there are things I could have done differently too. But here’s the thing: it’s not anyone else’s responsibility to ensure my dog is safe – that’s my job. The same is true for all pet owners. We owe it to our dogs and those around us to take the necessary precautions to prevent situations like this.

Leashing your dog isn’t just a law – it’s one of the easiest ways to keep everyone safe. Whether your dog is reactive, overly friendly, or perfectly trained, a leash is their lifeline.

Here are the Top 10 Reasons to Leash Your Dog:
1️⃣ Be a Good Neighbor: Prevent your dog from trespassing or jumping on others during your walk.

2️⃣ Better Walks Together: A leash-trained dog makes outings more enjoyable for everyone.

🚨 Animal Abuse Awareness: Justice for a 3-Month-Old Puppy 🚨

A deeply disturbing case of animal abuse has come to light involving a tiny 3-month-old puppy and her so-called owner, Havanna Miller, a 23-year-old resident of San Antonio, TX. While I won’t share the video here due to its graphic nature, the horrific actions taken by Miss Miller are the very definition of animal cruelty—heinous, disturbing, and beyond unacceptable.

Unfortunately, far too often, cases like these are swept under the rug, with animal abusers facing little to no consequences for their actions. It’s time to demand change. Animals are not just property—they are living, feeling beings who deserve protection, love, and justice.

Please take a moment to sign the petition created by Bluu’s Cluu’s Texas Street Rescue urging San Antonio officials to hold Miss Miller accountable for her actions. ✨ Pupdate: Boots Edition! ✨

Can you believe it’s been nearly 5 months since our ridiculously handsome and lovable boy, Boots, found his forever home? Time really flies when you’re thriving—and this boy is definitely thriving! 🐾💖

Boots’ parents absolutely adore him (of course, how could they not?!), and it’s safe to say anyone who meets him falls head over heels for his goofy, lovable personality. He’s living his best life, and we couldn’t be happier for him!

In exciting news, his family just swabbed him for a DNA test—and we can’t wait to see the results! Any guesses on what mix makes up this spotted wonder? 🤔

I’ve got a hunch there’s some Pyrenees in there (or maybe Anatolian Shepherd or Akbash) with that height and LGD tail, plus a splash of Pointer or Dalmatian giving him those adorable spots. What do you think? Drop your guesses below! ⬇️✨

🌟A Big Day for Lainey!🌟

Today was an extra special day as Lainey finally met her forever family—and WOW, does she fit right in!Her new parents are head over heels for her and can’t stop gushing about how smart she is. From the moment they laid eyes on her, it was pure love. 💕

Lainey is already making herself at home, getting along beautifully with her feline siblings (yes, even the cats are smitten 🐱) and bonding with her canine brother, Henry 🐶. Watching their friendship blossom has been heartwarming to say the least.

While she’s still adjusting to the big climate change (we don’t blame her—who likes unexpected weather shifts?! 🌦️), she’s settling in at her own pace. A little decompression time is all she needs, but it’s already clear that Lainey is on her way to a truly wonderful life. 🌈🐾

🌟 Lainey’s Big News! 🌟

I can’t believe I almost forgot to post this—things have been finalized for a while, but the excitement is just as fresh today! 🥳 I am beyond thrilled to share that our beautiful Lainey has found her forever home!

Lainey has been waiting patiently since the summertime for her perfect family, and after months of searching, her dream has finally come true. 💕 Her adoption was finalized shortly after Halloween, and while the wait for transport felt long, tomorrow is finally the day she begins her journey to her forever family. 🚐✨

In the meantime, Lainey has been living her best life with her amazing foster dad, Chris, soaking up all the love and comfort of home life. 🏡 She even got the rare chance to virtually meet her new family, which made everyone even more excited for their in-person meeting this Saturday!

Lainey will soon be cuddling with her new canine brother, Henry, a few feline friends, and her wonderful new parents—David & Monica! 🐾🐕🐈 They’ve been so patient, eagerly waiting for this special day, and we couldn’t be happier for everyone involved.

Congratulations to the Johnsons on welcoming such a sweet soul into your lives! We can’t wait to see Lainey thrive in her new home filled with love, laughter, and furry companions. 🎉💖 Thank you for giving this girl the happy ending she deserves!

Today, the incredibly handsome Cortez started a brand-new chapter with his amazing new mom. I think it’s safe to say this sweet boy is in for the life he’s always deserved! 🐾❤️

✨ Auggie Update! ✨

It’s been a little over a month since Auggie (formerly known as Rudy) found his forever family, and I just got the sweetest update from his mom! 🐾💌

Here’s what she had to say:

“We wanted to share some new Auggie pictures—he is doing so good!! He turned 6 months the other day, and he’s just over 20 lbs! He’s the biggest love bug with the funniest personality, and fetch is his FAVORITE activity!!

We think eventually we’d love to get him a buddy, probably one that’s already 1-2 years old, and hopefully through you! We dog sit regularly, and we can tell he loves having a friend, so definitely something on the horizon we’d love to work with you on!!

We thank you so much for bringing him into our lives!!”

How amazing is this?! 🥰 It warms my heart to see Auggie thriving and being so loved. Seeing updates like these is what makes all the hard work so worth it. ❤️🐶

Adoption Announcement: Cortez’s Forever Home! 🎉

I might be a little behind on my updates, but this one is worth the wait! 😍 The incredibly handsome hunk, Cortez, has found his forever home, and we couldn’t be happier for him. Can you believe this sweet boy waited over a month to meet his perfect match? Just look at that face—how could anyone resist?! 🐾💛

Cortez will be heading to his forever home at the end of the month. While he won’t make it in time to celebrate Thanksgiving with his new mom, Katelyn, we know he’s going to have an amazing time ringing in the rest of the holiday season in the comfort of his forever home. He’s finally getting the love, joy, and family he’s been waiting for—and it’s going to be the best life ever!

A huge thank you to Shayla Gates for introducing me to this handsome guy and helping make his journey home possible. 💕

🌟 A Day to Celebrate: Medusa’s New Beginning! 🌟

Today marks a truly special moment as our sweet girl Medusa (soon to have a new name!) has completed her journey from Texas to New England and is now safe and loved in the arms of her forever family. 🐾💖 Adopted by one of our wonderful former adopters, we know Medusa is about to experience the life she has always deserved—filled with love, comfort, and joy.

Some of you may remember Medusa’s incredible story. She arrived at the shelter just a few months ago, heavily pregnant and hopeful for a brighter future. After raising her puppies, she faced heartbreaking odds—risking euthanasia due to overcrowding and her heartworm status. But in the nick of time, Karen and her family stepped up to save her, changing her story forever.

Not only is Medusa now safe, but she’s also joining her new sister Kaida (another PIYHR x BCAS pup)! 💕 Watching her embark on this beautiful new chapter fills our hearts with so much gratitude.

We are thrilled to share some amazing news with our community! The incredible Destiny Vanzandt, a passionate animal advocate, has officially launched her rescue’s website! Destiny’s unwavering dedication has made an enormous impact on countless animal lives. She’s not only been a street rescuer but also a transporter, foster, and so much more. For over a year, she has operated as a registered 501(c)3, selflessly focusing on supporting other rescues while putting her own organization on hold.

Now, after years of helping others, it’s time to rally behind her and give back so she can continue her life-changing mission. Destiny’s rescue, Bluu’s Cluu’s Texas Street Rescue, has launched its new website and needs all the support we can offer. Just a few days ago, Medusa left her shelter life behind and began adjusting to home life with her amazing foster, Terry! While she’s still decompressing, each day brings new improvements as she starts to trust more and open up. Terry Gummelt has been spending extra one-on-one time with Medusa to help her feel more comfortable and confident.

Meanwhile, sweet Cosmo has warmly welcomed Medusa into foster life, and together, they’ve been thriving!

🚨 Exciting Adoption News! 🚨

Last week, we celebrated a truly special moment—Medusa has officially found her forever home! Medusa, a beautiful German Shepherd, was just days away from being euthanized on 10/18. While I always hold onto hope that someone will step up, the harsh reality is that finding a home in such a short time, especially for a heartworm-positive dog, is never easy.

This wasn’t Medusa’s first encounter with danger. Back in July, she was at risk of euthanasia when she arrived at the shelter heavily pregnant. Her puppies saved her life then, but now that they’ve been weaned and found homes of their own, Medusa once again found herself in jeopardy—this time, due to her heartworm status and the shelter's overcrowding.

But Medusa’s luck turned around when one of our amazing adopters decided to step in and give her a second chance at life. I’m thrilled to announce that Medusa has been adopted by Kaida’s family (formerly known as Edith), and I couldn’t be more grateful! 🎉

Medusa’s journey could have ended very differently, but she now has the bright future she deserves, thanks to them. 💕
