Congratulations to Pika and Boba for landing such a loving home with this sweet woman, Caitlynn. We are so thankful you chose to keep these precious sisters together and it was amazing to see how supportive your parents are to have extra supplies at their house for them for when you visit. Goodluck in school and with your move and we hope these two angels keep you the best company you could ask for!

THANK YOU to everyone who has ever surrendered a rabbit to us ALONG WITH countless supplies. We had over 26 different pet carriers that we just did not have the room for and that's AFTER we kept all of the top opening ones. Anything we can't or won't use for our rescue buns, we clean and resell just to raise funds for medical and food bills.

THANK YOU to Susan and Tara from for purchasing every single one and transporting them on your own to make our lives easier. Not only did this help us raise funds but now they will be useful to another amazing rescue. Susan was very generous to purchase them all for the rescue and Tara was very impressive with her tetris skills.

We have so many rabbit supplies ranging from cages, hutches, bowls, water bottles, toys, and more that we would love to have purchased so we can raise more funds. We are not a funded organization and donations or purchases like these really make such a difference.

If you'd like to donate cat supplies, please reach out to

If you'd like to donate rabbit supplies such as old toys, treats, food or hay your bun was too picky to eat, cleaning supplies, or if you'd like to donate new supplies to get them shipped to us please reach out!

Every dollar counts

A huge happy congratulations to Opie!!!! This little guy truly deserves a round of applause. He had a stressful start in life, and by the time we got him he was one we thought might never get adopted. He put in so much work by eating everything we gave him without any difficulty, gained all the weight he needed, happily took his supplements and coconut oil for his fur to come back beautifully, allowed us to treat him with every medication and essential oil that he needed and look at how he flourished into a GORGEOUS rabbit! Peep the last photos to see how he arrived to us. He was worth the effort and we are so happy he has been adopted. What a success story! One to remember.

Congratulations to Olive and Mylo, (see last post) because this is such a cool set up, that we had to show you guys the home they landed!

NO hutch
NO wire bottoms
Temp controlled
Plenty of entertainment
Easy to clean and sterilize
Safe and protected
Adorable
And adequate space

Obviously not everyone has an entire room dedicated to their fur babies but if any of you are looking for a cool way to set up your area, here's some ideas!

We appreciate the self taken photos by our adopters!

Congratulations to Olive and Mylo, one of our bonded pairs! They reeled themselves in an amazing and loving family that will take amazing care of them! Thank you for not separating them and allowing them to stay bonded together in the same household!!! This allows us to keep our promises to the surrendering family's requests and it makes their transition into a new home much easier and faster when they have a familiar friend along the way. These buns went from the spoiled home to the next and not all of them are so lucky.

We appreciate the self taken photos by our adopters as we were so excited about the adoption that we forgot to take some!!

P.s. yes, long haired buns like these two lionheads do indeed require regular grooming. If you keep up with it you can get away with brushing them gently every other week but their fur can easily become matted when left unattended for too long. We offer grooming services for $10, nail trims for $5 and we have no problem showing you how to do it!

Cookie and her bonded bun (emotional support bunny) tagged along for Cookie's teeth trimming appointment with us! These cuties were adopted from us and came back for this very important service! We included before, during, and after photos. The halfway point photo shows that it's never just the two front teeth, there's always another set right behind them that need attention as well. Cookie did awesome 👌🏻

~

Typically trimming or removing your rabbits' teeth will cost more than $500 because they go under anesthesia. Our service ($50) is much cheaper because we do not do this. We trim them while they are conscious. Several farmers and meat raisers do it this way as well, but they use your everyday nail clippers or wire cutters to snip them shorter. The risk with that is it can split the tooth right up into the gum and cause them a lot of pain. We use a dremmel that cuts exactly where we need it to without touching the nerves of the teeth or harming their gums. Some rabbits are too old, or at too much risk to go under anesthesia multiple times and that's where we come in! Don't risk your rabbit not waking back up!

Congrats to all 4 of these ladies! Thank you for driving over 2 hours to adopt Bulma and Tenten before they even hit the "available" list! You saved them the trouble of waiting around for someone to want them. We hope they are doing well in your home! Thank you for rescuing!

We had an incredible Easter and although we seize operations for adoptions every year, we still attend Easter events and allow anyone to borrow our bunnies for their photos so they don't feel the need to buy or adopt a rabbit they don't plan to keep for forever.

BoDiddy was chosen for some basket photos with this precious little newborn and they turned out so darn cute!! Don't you think?

P.s. BoDiddy is part of a 4 rabbit group that was surrendered to us altogether. All four are still available for adoption. We would prefer they go together but realistically we are willing to split them in bonded pairs.

We took this little angel to get spayed at Sheets Pet Clinic and she was such a good traveler! She did very well with the 6hr drive there and back, we monitored her overnight and she deserved those delicious strawberries!!

We can schedule your little fur baby to get fixed and can arrange transport for you! We transport from Jacksonville, NC all the way to the clinic in Greensboro, NC. Please see the 3rd photo for the current prices, plus our $60 for transport to compensate for gas. Feel free to donate more if you'd like but that is not required!

Message us to hop on our next trip!

It has been a frustrating couple of months!! For some reason our business pages were reported to have unusual activity and they were locked. As we tried to regain access to them they kept locking out. The "appeals" took more than 30 days and we weren't able to get into any messages either!
Because this was a Business Suite issue there was no access to the Instagram or the Facebook, or the messages for either.

We will be responding to everyone's messages throughout the weekend!

Quick updates: we are not currently accepting new surrenders until we are able to adopt out more of our rescues! Please seek a wildlife rehab for wild rabbits as we only work with domesticated rabbits, thanks!

UPDATE: ADOPTED

Neji is one of four adults recently surrendered to us from the same household. He is a 1 year old unaltered broken tort mini lop. He is very sweet, easy to handle but still enjoys having his own space. Sometimes he can be a bit shy. At his previous home he lived in an outdoor area with plenty of room to run around and dig tunnels, so he is not litterbox trained. He has been around small children and various animals and has a good temperament! He does not like to be held for long periods but will tolerate it a little bit. He will appreciate slow socialization and having patience with him!

Phew!!! We just responded to over 100 messages tonight!!! We only have a couple left that we will respond to tomorrow. Thank you all so much for your patience! We have referred a lot of you to Wildlife Rescue of Charlotte who are interested in fostering in that area. We appreciate everyone for reaching out to support us and to properly rehome your rabbits! The waiting list is LONG. 300+ on the non donating side and much less on the donating side. We hope to help however we can, but sometimes it can't be right away!

Sammy is a beautiful light brown lionhead! He was part of a breeding program and made the most beautiful little babies. The breeder decided to stop breeding and rehomed everyone except for him. She kept him for a while as her personal pet, and then ended up moving to Massachusetts and couldn't bring him with her. She brought this cutie to us to rehome him somewhere where he can have more company! He gets along great with the other bunnies but wants to hump them ALL 😂 we would highly suggest for him to be neutered before adding him to a home with other bunnies. He was born in August of 2020 so he's 3 years and 7 months old! He is not neutered, does great with other animals and children, and you will need to brush him as he sometimes gets his fur tangled up. He was kept outdoors at his previous home and is not fully litterbox trained yet but seems to understand the general idea of it so far!

UPDATE: ADOPTED

Olive (3yr old spayed female) and Mylo (6yr old neutered male) are a beautiful bonded pair that lived a luscious and spoiled life! These two lionheads were only surrendered due to their primary caregiver moving out of state and the new caregiver was too allergic to them to spend as much time with them as they deserved. These two had indoor and outdoor hutches as well as yard runs and exercise pens. They had the best of every world and were very well taken care of! In their previous home they did great around dogs, cats, children, and they are both litterbox trained! They love dehydrated fruit snacks, especially apple chips.

Olive 🫒
A little shy, uses Mylo as her security blanket. They love snuggling eachother. She likes to sprint around the room and do binkies. She loved when you sit on the ground with them and they will hop all over you!

Mylo 🖤
He is super sweet and loves laying with Olive! He enjoys being rubbed and pet on his terms, enjoys being in the same room as you and will nudge you for attention. He is very curious and loved when you sit on the ground with them so they can hop all over you!

Because this bonded pair was surrendered together and requested to be kept together, we will only rehome them as a bonded pair and will require a contract to be signed to confirm and promise you will keep them together! If you only want one bunny please choose from our singles selection only.

UPDATE: ADOPTED but RETURNING SOON

Elio was part of a 5 month old duo, but unfortunately the albino friend had a freak accident and had to be euthanized. He was a little nervous and timid at first but seems to warm up quickly. Elio is a beautiful light gray lionhead, white underbelly and eyes to match his fur! At his previous home he was kept indoors, around cats, and can use the litter box pretty well so far. He is not neutered but still sweet as can be! He has not shown any signs of grieving or depression since losing his partner but would probably like to have a friend in his new home!

This little cutie is Milo! He was listed as a lionhead mix but he is definitely mostly Dutch! He is 6 years old and doesn't act it at all. He is very sweet, calm, laid back and easy going. He doesn't mind getting pets. Isn't his white foot adorable!? He is neutered, does great with dogs and children, and is litterbox trained even though he was kept mostly outdoors at his previous home under a covered porch! He can be shy at times but is very approachable. Milo came from a great home, was very well taken care of and his surrendering family made a generous donation to ensure he had everything taken care of during his stay with us. He is only being surrendered due to the daughter being away at college and the rest of the family is not home enough to care for him. Milo deserves a pampered home to retire to and live out his remaining years!

AVAILABLE

This is Jax! (Nicknamed Jaxy) He was surrendered with another lionhead named Opie (Sons of Anarchy references) but they did not get along well. Jax was the alpha of the two.

Jax was kept together with Opie because the original owners were told they were neutered and would get along but even after bonding efforts, once they reached maturity Jax became the alpha and tormented Opie, because they were not actually neutered. He was surrendered at 9mos old and we have had him for 3 months so he is about a year old now! He looks to be a chestnut dwarf / lionhead mix as he is very small for a lionhead, but already full grown. He has a cute white underbelly! He is an unaltered male, a little shy, but good with children, dogs and cats. Although he was kept indoors at his previous home, he is not quite completely litterbox trained yet but does great for the majority! He was only surrendered because they wanted him to have a better life!

UPDATE: ADOPTED

This is Opie! He was surrendered with another lionhead named Jax (Sons of Anarchy references) but they did not get along well. See the last photos of the post to see what he looked like when we first received him.

Opie has come a long way since we got him! He had a couple open sores, lots of missing fur, and ear mites. He was kept together with Jax because the original owners were told they were neutered and would get along but even after bonding efforts, once they reached maturity Jax became the alpha and tormented Opie, because they were not actually neutered. UPDATE: ADOPTED

Oliver a.k.a Ollie, is a very sweet and relaxed tri-colored Holland Lop male! He is around 3 years old, neutered, and litterbox trained! This healthy young man was only surrendered due to the family no longer having enough time and attention for him. He loves to dig, wants all of his food to himself, and let's you know when he's annoyed by grumbling or nibbling at you! At his previous home, he was around 3 dogs and 2 cats but they did not interact directly. He has not been around many young children aside from the events we have brought him to since receiving him as a surrender. He does not like cucumbers!

The warmest hugs and biggest thank you to the Palumbo family!! This gesture was so sweet and considerate and we were HONORED to be a recipient of the love that was shared on behalf of their mother!! These items will absolutely all be used (quickly) and we are so appreciative of the donation. Thank you, Jayna, for reaching out and getting this set up with us!

For anyone else interested in donating, we will be setting up our fundraising on social media very soon! That is something we have been slacking on since being officially founded as a non profit 501c3 rescue.

Daisy(now BamBam) returned for his teeth trimming visit! (Yes we know he has a girly name lol)

He no longer belongs to the school that adopted him and was adopted by a student and her family! It took them a bit to find us and get our info but we are back at getting him on the schedule again!

The last photos are of him pouting, faced away, but still choosing to be comfy 😂

To answer what the majority of you have been thinking; NO we have not shut down!

We took a break from our social media for a while to focus on rescue / business upgrades. We are back online and operating again! We are in the process of answering the 100+ messages and trying our best to respond to comments. Playing catch up is not the easiest, so if we have missed your message or comment a week from now, please send again or tag us!

We have plenty of new rabbits to add to our available lists that we have been caring for the past few months already. Everyone is healthy and ready to go! You will see a flurry of new posts this weekend to show them all!

Also, we have availability for spay/neuter services! The photo shows the current prices at Sheets Pet Clinic and we charge $60 to transport them from Jacksonville, NC. Message us to hop on our next trip!

was so welcoming and caring to us. This was the first time we've had to use an animal hospital or vet for an emergency in this area. They were worth the drive and the vet answered every single question and concern we had. We are very thankful they were able to squeeze us in and help care for one of our surrenders. Although we are very sad the poor baby had to be euthanized, it was all done so professionally and we are happy to refer them to anyone near Wilmington who would like to use a reliable animal hospital for their exotic pet. Thank you Paws & Claws for taking us on as a new customer and rushing to our help. It meant the world and we are so thankful for your quick assessment and helping us do what was best for our rabbit. We hope we do not need you in the future, but it is reassuring that if we do, we will be taken care of and treated like family.

20/01/2024

We had a very sad Christmas. Right before the holidays we noticed one of our surrenders was crawling to the food bowl by dragging his back feet. We could instantly tell one of his back legs were broken. We immediately called the emergency vet but they had nobody on staff that was able to see a rabbit. The next morning we called every vet in town and only one was able to fit us in last minute for the day as it was right before Christmas and everyone was booked out until after the holidays. We had a volunteer drive an hour away from her home to take him to this vet as fast as possible. After the xray showed he not only had one broken leg, but two, they insisted on humane euthanization. We are heart broken! And confused! We left with more questions than we arrived with. How was this possible? We investigated every single person that had been around this bunny, he is not in a home with kids or dogs and stayed in a two story hutch. He was fine the day prior and the morning of but when feeding dinner, he was low/army crawling to the bowl. Nobody had gone in there between feedings and we are thinking that he got stuck and and panicked or fell from the top floor of the hutch and landed wrong. With him being less than 6 months his bones were still growing and fragile and there was nothing we could do to help this poor baby. We already contacted the surrendering family and let them know of the tragedy but since we do not post or operate over the holidays we are just now posting this. We are so sad he was injured and put down, and of course the vet bill dipped into our already low account funds. 😢 we hope he is eating all the carrots he wants in bunny heaven and we appreciate the support and donations we have received from all of you that even made this vet trip possible. Please continue to donate, it helps so much!
