Wreath workshops are here AND we just added new dates to the schedule!

Join us for some festive fun this holiday season and create a gorgeous evergreen wreath to deck out your door in style. Our Christmas wreath workshops are happing in our cozy shop at the farm (23293 34A Ave, Langley) on Monday Nov. 11th, Tuesday Nov. 12th and now also Friday Dec. 6th and Saturday Dec. 7th!

Wreath-making workshops are my absolute favourite way to get into the Christmas spirit (is there anything as festive as the smell of fresh cut boughs and mulled apple cider??) and the best part is that you will take home the most beautiful, long lasting wreath to enjoy all season long. Grab a friend or family member and start a beautiful new Christmas tradition this year 🎄Check out all the details and sign up on our website, link in profile.

And just like that, the season is over. The flowers for our last event were picked up at the farm late last week and that marked the very last fresh flowers to leave the farm for 2024. It was an honour to help commemorate a beautiful life well lived with the last of the beauty from the field.

Fresh flowers may be done (for now!) but we’ve got lots of dried flowers in the pipeline and Christmas wreaths and centrepieces still to come. We’re clearing the field in preparation for planting thousands and thousands of specialty tulips, narcissus, anemones and ranunculus. The days may be slightly less frenetic but they’re certainly no less busy 😂

Here’s to fall, to change and the promise of rest soon to come 🥂

Fall feels like it’s coming in hot this year and I find myself waffling between “Nooooooo I’m not readyyyyy!” And “I can press snooze on my 5am alarm? Yes please! “ 😂.

The dahlias on the other hand are living their best life right now, they love the warm days and cool nights of September. Fingers crossed they will be glorious until at least Thanksgiving 🤞

Tomorrow is officially the first day of fall, are you excited or holding on to summer by your fingernails??

It’s a drizzly, grey day but this is a reminder that summer isn’t over just yet ☀️

It’s pretty magical when you get to see the ingredients become the final product ✨

Bulk bloom buckets are one of my favourites to prepare and I always love handing them over to be transformed into someone else’s vision. This pastel dream headed out to one of our favourite local farms for a garden party themed birthday celebration 🎂

With their amazing chicken, beef, pork and eggs to work with I can only imagine the food was as incredible as the flower arrangements and table settings.

Bulk bloom buckets are back in stock for September and they make a great choice if you are hosting a party or event or just looking for a fun activity for girls night 🍸

We’re celebrating 11 years today since we said ‘I do’ and nearly 18 years together 😲 the days really do fly when you’re having fun. I’m not sure how I got so lucky to find a man that not only complements me perfectly but calmly handles all my flower-related shenanigans 🤣

Summertime means sunshine, swimming, family visits and around here, prepping for events.

This coming week will be a busy one so the farm stand will be closed Tuesday the 13th and Thursday the 15th but OPEN today (Friday the 9th) and Friday Aug. 16th instead. And fresh flowers for your weekend is always a good idea ☺️

Writing those dates down really brings it home how fast summer is flying by 😳 Who else is amazed that we’re already part way through August?!?

The wait for the dahlias always seems long, and this year with our cold wet spring this year it actually has been. Unfortunately checking them a million times a day doesn’t make them bloom any faster but I dutifully reaffirm this every year, just in case 😂

Those colours, the shapes, the mesmerizing symmetry; they are so worth the wait.

Varieties:
Salmon Runner (bottom left) Linda’s baby (middle top) Ferncliff Pearl (top right) and a mislabel that blooms first and pumps out loads of flowers all summer and fall, she’s a keeper whatever her name!

Rainy, drizzly summer days demand flowers, don’t you think? A shot of colour to remind us that summer isn’t over just yet despite the grey skies.

The farm stand will be stocked today (Tuesday) and Thursday this week so you can treat yourself or remind someone that you are thinking of them. Flowers say it best, I always think 😉

The stand is stocked with lots of beautiful colour combinations today: strawberry lemonade🍋, very berry 🍓and mango fruit salad🥭. I always like my sweet with a little tart so strawberry lemonade gets my vote, which one is your favourite?

🎶I love July, but it’s the season of the spikes🎶

I have this (slightly modified) song running through my head every time I harvest the snapdragons, foxglove and larkspur that are stealing the show in our bouquets and arrangements these days.

I have a serious soft spot for these linear flowers, also know as spikes in florist speak. They have a grace in their tall willowy form that at 5’4” I’m painfully aware I’ll never manage 🤣

This bronze variety of snapdragon is new to me this year and the colour is amazingly versatile, definitely a new favorite and the foxglove stops me in my tracks every time. Which one is your favourite?

July is kind of an in-between time on a flower farm, the spring flowers are done (until next year peonies 😢) but the summer annuals haven’t quite hit their stride yet. I used to stress about it, worried about not having the right ingredients to make bouquets, with focal flowers being in such short supply. These days these few weeks feel like a calming breath and I kind of revel in it. There is so much anticipation and excitement tied up in all those budding plants ✨

The farm stand will be closed today as we wait for the field to catch up and take a little extra quality time with the kids, they’re growing almost as fast as the flowers are. We will be open again on Thursday and possibly Friday, keep an eye on our stories to stay up to date!

Easily the most magical spot in the field right now, the foxglove with their nodding blooms beg for the curious exploration of little fingers. I am forever charmed by their quiet, whimsical beauty.

I’ll be tucking the first few handfuls of foxglove into bouquets for the farm stand for today. We’re not usually open on Mondays but it seemed like a great way to celebrate an extra long weekend 🎉

We will be open again tomorrow but closed this coming Thursday (July 4th) so come grab an armful filled with these magical woodland beauties and the last peonies of the season 💐

It has been an insanely busy season so far with no time for rest or even sleep most of the time, and sometime burning the candle at both ends (and in the middle if I’m honest) comes back to bite you in the 🍑

The farm will be closed for the next few days as I take a bit of time off to recuperate from pneumonia . I’m hoping to be back up on my feet for more of this ⬆️ for Thursday 🤞

Peony subscription members keep an eye on your email for instructions about this week’s pick ups 💐

It’s been a rough cold and flu season this year, I hope you take the time to rest and stay healthy out there!

We just needed a little sun…they’re finally here 🥰 we’ve been harvesting the first few stems little by little over the last week until it finally turned into a flood 🌊
It’s hard not to love these big luscious beauties and I can’t wait to share them with you at the farm stand tomorrow and with our peony subscription members over the next few weeks.

If you are signed up for our peony subscription keep an eye out for an email over the next couple of days, your first bouquet will be ready this coming week!
