Had a wonderful weekend. Friday (Luke x Phoebe) made me proud at the East Idaho Classic by going Winners Bizzatch and Best of Winners from the Bred By class for her first points and it was a major under Judge Kimberly Anne Meredith. It was also my first win with a home bred dog. Looking forward to the future with my girl.

The AKC approved standard for Labrador Retriever includes a height requirement (see below). I was interested to see how big, or small, my dogs are, so I made a wicket used to measure dogs. The results were interesting.

How do your dogs measure? Like other things in life, I thought my dogs were taller.

Standard: The height at the withers for a dog is 22-1/2 to 24-1/2 inches; for a bitch is 21-1/2 to 23-1/2 inches. Any variance greater than 1/2 inch above or below these heights is a disqualification. The minimum height ranges set forth in the paragraph above shall not apply to dogs or bi***es under twelve months of age.

Received a Recovery Zone dog couch today, and within a minute of it being out of the box, Dui was on it. 2nd snap is him 20 minutes later, and he hasn't moved for the last hour. I would say it works.

Brought the 2023 keepers to their first show, PSLRA Annual Specialties, earlier this month. Elkhorn's Let's Shoot for Tomorrow, Friday, 6 1/2 months, wowed me by winning her Bred by Exhibitor Puppy class. Elkhorn's Cruising the Back Roads, Dui, 4 months old, showed well and has a lot of promise.

Friday is from our Luke, Erinhill's You Can Crash My Party x Phoebe, Elkhorn's Skyfire Sharpshooter in the Wild West litter.

Dui is from our Cello, Zinfndel's Limoncello x Eleanor, Somersun's Burning Up The Quarter Mile To Elkhorn litter.

"Cello", Zinfndels Limoncello x "Eleanor" Somersun's Burning Up The Quarter Mile To Elkhorn - 5.5 weeks old, really big and sassy.

We have a black male, a black female and 2 yellow males. Don't know exactly what is available until evaluation day, but if you are looking for a great puppy, message me your color and s*x preference, and we can see if it works out. Ready to go home May 7.
