If there's one thing Kyu has taught me it's that our dogs are always trying their best.

Sometimes, it might not look like it.

Sometimes, there are things you can do to help them perform better.

Sometimes, you can't.

And that's okay. It's okay to accept that your dog just can't do "that thing" on that day. Or ever.

It's also okay to accept it for yourself, too. 💜💙💚

Another spectacular freestyle performance on AGT! Lots of beautiful, high-level tricks without a lot of heeling but still great ring usage and flow. Just WOW!

From the Judge's Table. . .

If you choose to use props in your freestyle routines, make them a part of the story. Use them to set the scene for your interpretation of the music. If you're using a cone or a Klimb as a prop, drape it, hang ornaments from it, put a skirt on it. Props that are anachronistic or incongruous to the theme detract from your performance. In MF, props are judged on how integral they are to the routine. A cone off to the side used once so the dog has something to go around is not going to score as well as a suitcase that your partner comes out of, goes around, pulls and gets on top of in a routine about taking a trip. Get creative with both how you use props and how they look to your audience! 🎭💃 🐕
