We are 4 years old today 🥳

So I would like to thank each & every one of you who has supported us over the years ❤️ but most of all I would like to thank all my gorgeous gang and their amazing mums & dads because without you we wouldn’t be where we are now !! I have learned something from every single dog that has ever walked through the door and met some of the best people who I now get to call my friends ☺️ we really are a little family 🫶 I am blessed to know you all and that I get to love your dogs like they are my own ( cos they are 😜) thank you so so much for the trust you place in me daily and I promise you I will continue to do my very best by you all 💕

So we had our first ever emergency here at Madfurit today 😩 after owning dogs for 25 + years and working with them for the last 4 !!!

Our little Mani menace managed to get hold of a bit of onion today and as they can be highly toxic to dogs especially puppies we had to get him to the vets asap before he digested it completely 🤦🏻‍♀️

Massive thank you to our Marvels dad & good friend to our Madfurit family Dean for getting us to the vets so quickly 🙏🏻

My poor little son bun had meds to make him sick and I spent a few hours and a fortune to lie on the vets floor with him.

I now have to watch him for the next few hours to make sure he’s fully recovered and if he’s sick make sure no aspiration occurs.

We are extremely careful here all medicines are locked away at a height the dogs cannot reach, we have secure fencing and locked gates so they can never get out unsupervised and all foods toxic to dogs are never ever fed to them BUT this goes to show no matter how careful you are or how vigilant sometimes these things CAN & DO happen and the key is to act FAST!!!

I’m starting to appreciate why Labs get their reputation of being greedy and eating absolutely anything no matter how well fed they are 🤦🏻‍♀️

It’s been a very upsetting ordeal for us all so I will be offline for the rest of today and will get back to any messages tomorrow ❤️

Had a few messages asking after my Son regards what’s happened at co op academy this morning 🥺 thank you so much for your concern but that is not the school he attends. We do however have friends who’s children go to that school so we have like yourselves been very upset by it all. Hoping all affected are ok 🙏🏻

Please do NOT send your dog to daycare if they aren’t well !!!!

We have had an incident this wknd after a dog who attended daycare here Friday who wasn’t too good 😞 my own 2 dogs plus one I had in boarding have all been poorly one after the other as a result 😩 it’s been a wknd of no sleep and non stop cleaning for us but also not a nice experience for the dogs!!!!

Sometimes dogs can have a off day due to something they have eaten etc BUT sometimes it CAN be something they are able to pass on to other dogs so please keep that in mind and do not send them if they have loose stools or are being sick!!!

If your dog displays any of the above whilst in attendance I will ask that they are picked up and taken home asap.

All the dogs who have been poorly over the wknd are now fine and back to full health after lots of love & care ☺️ we have gone thru endless blankets, kitchen roll, disinfectant, eggs & sweet potatoes 😆 and I don’t think my washing machine has ever been on so much!!!

If you are in ANY doubt whatsoever please always speak to me before sending your dog.

Morning gang 👋🏻 just a little update that we now have NO availability for boarding during ANY school holidays for the rest of 2026 ( this also applies to daycare dogs) we are completely FULL all summer & the October half term ( no boarding over Xmas ) as I explained in a post earlier this week I am now licensed for one less dog so next year I will be changing how I work slightly and I will only be boarding ONE dog at a time who is a boarding dog ONLY and doesn’t attend my daycare. This will be on a STRICT first come first serve basis and a deposit MUST be paid at time of booking to secure the space. This is to avoid having to turn down my dogs who come to me week in week out for daycare which sadly I’ve found myself having to do more often as the business has grown 😬 I need a bigger house 😩 I feel absolutely blessed that so many of you have stuck with us for so many years and trust me when I say it genuinely pains me to ever turn any of you away as I love all my gang so much and the thought of them going elsewhere fills me with anxiety as they are all my babies BUT I cannot avoid the regs & rules set by the council. So please understand my hands genuinely are tied here. So please try to be organised if you cannot be flexible regards dates to avoid disappointment. My books will be staying CLOSED for the foreseeable and it’s highly unlikely I will be taking on ANY new dogs in 2027 so as much as I appreciate all the recommendations you all give us…. Please don’t 😆 as always thank you all so much without you we wouldn’t be where we are now 🫶❤️

🐾 Charlie Boy’s Barkery is growing 🐾

We’re looking for another absolute legend to join the team 🙌

As things grow, we’re looking for somebody to help with markets, office pop-ups, Barkery Box weekends & events across Manchester and beyond.

Some events will involve running setups independently, so we’re looking for somebody reliable, confident and proactive who can represent the brand properly when working solo.

You’d need to:
• Drive 🚗
• Be confident chatting to hoomans
• Help with setting up/packing down events
• Be reliable
• Love dogs obviously 🐶
• Manchester based preferably

This would suit somebody who enjoys events, creative businesses, busy weekends & being part of a growing independent brand.

Flexible/self-employed basis.
