Hey everyone!!

Quick update on our breeding season here at Hognose Best 😀

🐍Norma isn't looking like she's gaining any weight or ovulating yet. I also think Rocket isn't quite getting the idea as we haven't seen a lock yet, although he's eager and willing to try, so we comtinue to pair them for now.

🐍Minnie and mouse have been locked a couple of times and she's looking like she's getting slightly thicker, so we are hopeful for them 2 being successful! 🤞

🐍Brûleé and Donny have been very active and he's been chasing her consistently which is good! We believe they have been locked by looking at their vents and Brûleé is looking a little thick, so staying positive with those 2!

🐍Valerie, Keith and Groot have been a bit hit and miss. We started pairing with Groot but thought he wasn't quite there and so decided to put Keith in for some competition. Keith we have tried to breed the past 2 years and he's not been enthusiastic at all but it seems the competition works for him because we spotted them locked soon after putting them in! We aren't sure if we caught her ovulation in time but Valerie is looking very thick and is definitely gravid. She's just going into blue now, so we really hope we caught it in time and she lays fertile eggs!

Breeding season update! 😃

We have 3 other pairings here at HBHQ

Pictured first is our Ultramel super pos het hypo (Brûlée) with an Arctic toxic conda (Donny)

Next up is our Normal het sunburst (Norma) with a superarctic pos het sunburst (Rocket) fingers crossed for him as he's a small boy but he's been very eager to try! 😄

Lastly we have a normal pos het lavender (Valerie) with 2 possible suitors! First is Keith (normal het coral, who we have already seen locked with her 😁) and second male Groot (conda het sable and lavender) who is helping keep Keith motivated but if he also has a chance then we won't be disappointed!!

There's a few first timers this season and of course we haven't brumated either, so whatever happens happens.

We will be grateful for anything! Lol 😄

We have thought carefully about our breeding plans recently, and have been quite particular with pairings, not only for the morph outcomes, but also to get the healthiest babies possible! 🤞🍀

A very belated 'MERRY XMAS' to all our followers!!! 🎄🎉🎅🎁

Apologies for the lack of posts.

Here's the deal....
We are a neurodivergent household.
We have 4 children at home, 6 in total.
3 of which have birthdays leading up to Xmas, 2 being a 16th and a 21st this year! 😄😪

We also both work (although I have recently left my job) and have a house to maintain.

That's without looking after all our animals! So you could say we have a bit of a Zoo going on here 😂 which means sadly that some things have to give and that includes social media 😕

We try our best to keep you all updated but sometimes life just gets in the way and that's ok, because living life is much more important than sharing it on social media for all to see.

It's not that we don't want to do this but there just isnt enough time or hours in the day to get everything done!

Another confession...we didn't even brumate our snakes this year! Which meant we have had to keep on top of our cleaning and feeding schedule and haven't had a break.

This is partly due to us losing track of things and getting them all off heat in time and partly because we aren't really making any big plans for breeding next year. It was a catch 22 situation and so we just continued with our schedule which has been hard work, but the only way we could get things done without causing chaos!

That said we still have a few plans for next season, but we aren't going full on and it will be a good test to see if brumation does actually effect our season or not and if we are any good at timing things right ourselves....😄👍

Please don't take our silence as anything other than us just being busy with taking care of everyone and know that that is our no.1 priority. That said we are always available to talk anytime, especially if you have one of our babies and are worried about something. We will always endeavour to answer you all in good time and be there for all our patrons old and new. We wouldn't be where we are without you! ❤️🙏

We do hope you have all had a happy Xmas and if you would like to share any of your Xmas chaos with us or your snakes, we would be happy to see/hear all about it/them! 🥰

Hey everyone!!! 👋 😃

It's been a while! So why not do a post introducing some new additions to our family collection 😊

Our first is a Caramel 66% het sable+lavender female. She's beautiful and got quite the appetite! We got her from Eddie so a big thanks to him for this lovely girl!

Our second is a conda het maitai female from Joe and Kerry and she's doing really well too! Very easy to handle and also eats like a champ 😄 thankyou again guys 👍

So all that's left to do is name these 2 ladies! Please comment below with all your suggestions 😁

The colour on this boy is beautiful! 😍👌 Lemon yellows, light tans and browns, almost looks like a frosted! He's growing well and weighing in at 14g 👍

Hey everyone!

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. We have been very busy with life and just couldn't fit in social media on top. I've also struggled personally with my mental health, so taking a step back sometimes helps! Just spending time with family and the animals is the best therapy 🙂

Here's something new we have been up to today. Somebody got an enclosure upgrade...but can you guess who or see what it is?? 👀🙂

We have gone bioactive with this one with a drainage layer, live plants and some orange isopods and springtails for clean up crew 👍

A couple of sable babies looking pretty today whilst cleaning 😍🤩❤️👌

These babies are so chilled out compared to our other clutches, which is funny because the parents can be pretty sassy! Maybe that will come in time..🤷‍♀️
