A staggering 80% of all Giraffes that underdo sedation is due to foot issues!!! from been over grown, lameness or other foot related issues. 😔

This is one of the reasons regular foot care is of such importance within all facilities. From training with the Hoof-stock to understanding the anatomy of the foot and ensuring all staff who are involved in trimming their feet undergo some form of training.

Its been an absolute pleasure working with these big boys over the years!! Its always a treat to assist the rangers in looking after their feet.

As always prevention is always better that cure, that's why routine trimming is a must for all our hoofed friends no matter the size!!

Nothing says foot trimmings over for the day, than when the Giraffe goes over to his bed for a lay down 😂😂. I think that’s the biggest rejection I’ve ever had 🤦‍♂️
