This weekends tnr: 8 cats from a colony along the border of South Gate and Walnut Park. All of these cats are getting spayed/neutered, shots, ear tip and medication for mange (a few got revolution and convenia shots at the clinic, Ill be providing meds for the rest). Thankfully only 7 came back with me as a caring individual I met at the clinic will help the little tortie get healthy and adopted.

As many of you know, this year's kitten season has been worse than any before, and as such, we have received tons of requests asking for help. Unfortunately at the same time the clinic that provides us the spay/neuter services has cut down our Saturday appointments. That being said, we are asking those who we schedule to help: please follow our instructions and do not provide food for the feral cats (water is fine) on the day of trapping. If you are not the only feeder (most if not all cats have more than one feeder), please speak to other possible feeders and ask to not feed either. It is absolutely necessary for the cats to be hungry to go into our food baited traps. If they're not hungry, we waste time and very often waste valuable appointments. Not only that, wasting time makes us late to other colonies that often feed cats the later we show up. Please note, this is not a plea for appointments at other clinics. As un-paid volunteers, we are limited to trapping Friday nights only. Finally, if the colony has already been helped by another tnr group please reach out to them to finish the colony and hold them to it. We have been asked to help many colonies that have already been started by another local group and we only find out when we realize how trap adverse the cats are. It is unacceptable and poor practice for any group to visit a colony only once to tnr, and to ignore follow up pleas for help. We appreciate the cooperation.

11 cats and kittens from Pico Rivera went to get spayed/neutered, topical flea treatment (Frontline), FVRCP and Rabies vaccines yesterday. One female adult cat had a cyst in her o***y. Kittens with URI got an antibiotic injection. A black super sick kitten is currently with a temp foster getting treated for his URI (upper respiratory infection) aka kitty cold.

14 cats trapped! 12 for TNR (trap neuter return) to their colonies. 2 kittens for (trap neuter rescue) from a dangerous colony where the clinic and us suspect a black teen kitten was r***d by a sick individual based on the trauma she had on her a**s and lady parts. She was sadly euthanized.

This weekend's TNR consists of 9 cats.
6 females and 3 males. 4 of the TNR cats were kittens 😔. If you are able to foster and are near the SELA area message us. We hate to return kittens but we cannot help them without your help.

We took 9 cats from Walnut Park and Huntington Park area to get spayed/neutered, vaccines, and flea treatment on Saturday. Sadly, 1 teen kitten had to be humanely euthanized. She had an infection in her a**s, va**na and mammary glands. She appeared to have trauma in her lady parts and re**um. The clinic said, "they had never seen anything like it before". Our hearts hurt thinking about the pain and discomfort she had endured but are at peace knowing she's no longer suffering.

We trapped 10 cats from Huntington Park and South Gate on Friday night. 9 of them went to FixNation on Saturday to get spayed/neutered. 1 of the 9 was underweight and wasn't able to get fixed or have his eye enucleated. The 10th was a single under age kitten and only survivor from a litter who had a URI. He won't be going back to the colony, he's with a temp foster and will be going to a rescue soon. SELA TNR

We took 15 cats to FixNation yesterday. 8 females, 1 had pyometra, 1 was in heat and 2 were pregnant. 1 male cat had to be euthanized, another male was treated for mange.

8 cats from SELA area got spayed/neutered, FVRCP, Rabies vaccines and flea treatment. Three got treated for mange. Three females were in heat, two of them are nursing and had to be early release/returned to their babies. The Orange tuxedo Maine c**n mix received a convenia injection for a cat fight wound.

⚠️ GRAPHIC PICTURES FOR SOME!

We TNR'd in this LYNWOOD colony last night. Took the kitten to the spay/neuter clinic we use to see if he could get his eye removed. Unfortunately, kitten is still too small but we'll try again in a few weeks.

Back story- 8 kittens from two moms have a URI and eye infection. One kitten died from it last week and another kitten's eye infection quickly got worse to the point where he'll need to have his eye removed. Kittens are about 6-7 weeks old and in need of a rescue. In the meantime the caretaker purchased terramycin for the other kittens and we provided doxycycline to treat their URI.

7 Kittens are STILL IN NEED OF A RESCUE. Litters can be separated. It's 3 black kittens and 4 grey/brown tabbies

Kittens have two rescue offers but need fosters that can take the kittens to the clinic the rescues use. One clinic is in LA (snpla) the other clinic is in South El Monte.

11 Kittens in Huntington Park California are in need of fosters. They are in an area where the neighbor has called the police and animal control on them. Neighbor is also known for shooting at squirrels with his bb gun. Who knows what else he is capable of. The 11 kittens do not have to go together but we are trying to keep litters together. We believe kittens are from 3 or 4 different moms. We will consider foster to adopt in pairs of two kittens.

We took 10 cats from SELA area to get spayed or neutered, vaccines, treated for fleas. One orange tabby male cat got treated for a bite wound on his lower left front leg. It was shaved, cleaned and given a long lasting Convenia antibiotic. Another male cat was treated for mange.

4 out of the 5 cats we trapped from different locations were diagnosed with having mange. Treatment has been started and they are on their way to recovery.

Patty is getting her re check for her re**al prolapse surgery and will have her sutures removed and bandages replaced. Typically though, she wont stop being a love bug.

4 females and 2 males went to get spayed/neutered, vaccinated and treated for fleas. 3 of the females were in heat, 1 was pregnant and two out of the 6 cats were treated for mange.

We were told about this old ear tipped community cat that showed up to an Huntington Park cat colony we helped earlier this year. This poor old guy smelled of severe infection and had multiple masses/tumors in his mouth. The most humane thing to do was to have him euthanized to end his suffering.

9 cats from SELA (South East Los Angeles) area went to get spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for fleas. More than half of them have mange and have already began mange treatment. Sadly one old handsome white Tom cat from Huntington Park had to be humanely euthanized. He had severe stomatitis and a bunch of other issues going on

What a weekend!
We helped a colony in Los Angeles that has a sweet elderly caretaker caring for many cats. The colony had 5 super sick under age kittens that needed to be started on oral and topical eye antibiotics quickly to prevent them from getting pneumonia and or going blind from the eye infection. One of our team members made the decision to take them home and get them started on meds. Their feral mom (grey cat with white spot on chest) was TNR'd. 8 cats from that colony were TNR'd, 5 kittens were rescued.

There's still a feral mama with what looks like a right eye ulcer and a bite wound to her right side of her body that we need to TNR but she has 5 two week old kittens.

A total of 11 cats went to FixNation to get spayed/neutered, vaccines and flea treatment. 10 cats were photographed, 1 cat was camera shy.

South Gate, California
This black beauty was TNR'd about a month ago. She recently brought her three black beautiful kittens (2 seen in video) to the feeder. Kittens are about 2 1/2 -3 months old. Does anyone have room for the three black kittens? Message us if you can help.
