The Golden Retriever is one of America's most popular dog breeds, an energetic Scottish gun-dog with exceptional beauty. When they're not working, they're dedicated hunters and field workers, as well as guides for the blind and in search-and-rescue. They like obedience and other competitive events, and they have an adorable love of life. The Golden Retriever is a medium-sized, strong dog with a glossy, shiny coat of gold that gives the breed its name. A breed hallmark is the large head, with its kind and intelligent eyes, short ears, and straight nose. Standard height for males is 23 24 inches, and for females, 21½-22½ inches. A correctly built Golden Retriever male in working condition should weigh between 65-75 pounds, and a female should weigh between 55-65 pounds.
There are three types of Golden Retrievers.
While you might think all Golden Retrievers look very similar, the breed actually has three different colors -- golden, light golden, and dark golden -- as well as three different types -- English, Canadian, and American.
A Golden Retriever's coat should be well brushed every one or two weeks to avoid painful matting and to avoid too much shedding. You also shouldn't bathe your golden retriever too often as this could damage their beautifully soft undercoat.
Pets have become part of our families. So, just like our kids, or pets need attention and protection to make their lives comfortable and healthy. In fact, in countries like the U.S, Europe, and Japan, clothing pets has become a trend. However, not all pets may need clothing or grooming salons, but some enjoy life in clothes, and you also need to do it for health reasons. While some pets do well in all-weather seasons, some have sensitive skins that need to be protected. Also, smaller dogs are vulnerable and have a high risk of exposure to cold and sunburns. Although some people are skeptical about the idea, there are a dozen reasons to clothe your pets.
