🚨 Parade Updates 🚨
We just received additional information from the SPCA regarding parade requirements. Along with vaccinations, Coggins, and a health certificate, a separate SPCA form will now need to be signed by your veterinarian. The SPCA has informed us this form will be available starting tomorrow.

Additionally, there is a $150/horse fee to obtain the required hip tags. This fee will be paid to the City via the SPCA when OWNERS submit their completed forms.

These protocols are brand new this year, and we are doing our best to keep everyone informed and ensure compliance. Please bear with us and the SPCA as we navigate these changes together. Remember, we don’t create the rules—we’re just the messengers.

🚨 Important Update for 2025 Carnival Parade Participants 🚨

We were just made aware that Orleans Parish has updated the requirements for horses participating in carnival parades starting in 2025. All participating horses must have a current physical hip tag issued by the local animal control agency.

🔑 To qualify for a hip tag, horses must have:
• A current negative Coggins (EIA) test
• The following vaccinations:
• Eastern & Western Encephalitis
• Tetanus
• EHV-1 and EHV-4 (Equine Herpesvirus)
• West Nile Virus
• Influenza
• Strangles
• Rabies

Several of these vaccinations were not previously required and were not part of our former parade packages. We’ll be reaching out this week to clients whose horses may still need vaccines to meet these new requirements.

If you have horses that need vaccinations or are unsure of their current status, please contact us as soon as possible. Together, we’ll ensure your equine partners are ready to shine in the parades! 🐴🎭
