If you've been thinking about building a shed, now is the time to do it!
From the month of October, Fair Dinkum Builds Compass Sheds are donating $500 from each quote that turns into the sale of a shed, carport, awning or extension!
This is an incredible opportunity given to us by the lovely people at Fair Dinkum Builds, and we are much appreciative 🤍

Roy's Story
Roy was found as a stray in poor health. After a vet assessment it was discovered that he has fatty liver disease, fatty cysts, cataracts and prolonged vitamin deficiency that caused damage to the inside of his mouth and throat. He has not shown any ability or interest in flying.
The extent of his medical conditions gave him a poor prognosis, but with his easy going nature and love for human company he was an excellent candidate for palliative care.
Newcastle and Hunter Valley Bird Rescue paid for his medical bills and, after his stray hold period expired, accepted him as a forever foster to live out the rest of his days. Roy has recently passed his 1 year foster anniversary, a big change from the 'maybe a few months' prognosis upon arrival.
To maintain happy and pain free, Roy requires medication twice a day as well as a balanced diet of veterinary recommended parrot pellets, fruit and vegetables. The cost of this is covered by the rescue and a small number of volunteers.
NHVBR strive to educate existing and new parrot owners to feed their pets vet recommended pellets and fresh vegetables and fruit to decrease the chance of other birds getting the same health conditions poor Roy is faced with.
Another galah has recently been surrendered showing signs of heavy metal poisoning as well as fatty liver disease. Under vet advice, NHVBR has administered medication to slow down the deuteriation of the birds health, but without expensive tests there is no way to know how much damage has already been done. They need the help of the public to raise money for such tests.
