Lola and I discovered the sport of dock diving in 2008. We were both addicted immediately. This girl would totally loose it when she saw the pool/dock on driving up to a venue and just vibrate with excitement on the dock. I retired her from the sport 2 years ago due to her health issues. She is now 10.5 years old and suffers from several orthopedic issues including hip dysplasia, elbow issues and

arthritis. Lola current goes to our vet about every 10 days for acupuncture and laser treatments to control her pain and improve her mobility. My goal is to use all proceeds from the sale of these bumpers to support Lola's current treatments and to add hydrotherapy. Lola is my Love! I want the best for her I can provide in her golden years. Special thanks to our friends who have helped us through this process. Their testing and feedback for modifications have lead to the product we offer today! Thank you from Lola and I for viewing our page and considering a bumper purchase.

Hi everyone! Long time since I posted last. Finally getting into the grove and being productive. With the work schedule of late, I'm really only able to sew on the weekends. Thankfully have caught up on all invoiced orders and ready to start on the next round. I'll be going back through emails and messages to reply/reconnect with those of you who have reached out to me over the last couple of months.
Please feel free to contact me again if you have an upcoming event, your still interested or if you've understandably changed your mind.
Wishing you a wonderful time on the dock with your best friend - cherish the moments, create the memories you'll call upon many years later!
Thanks all!

Thank you everyone for your kind words and condolences. It's hard, but I am finding some peace in knowing she's pain free now.

Hi folks - we've been out of touch for a bit so decided it was time to update our friends.
Lola developed a growth on the side of muzzle in the whiskers above her lip. We watched it for a bit, but when it started to change and I felt an enlarged lump node in her neck we were back to the vet asap. Needle aspiration of the node and the mass were inconclusive. We started big gun antibiotics to see if it would help and planned for removal. All of Lola's lab work was near perfect for her age and chest x-ray was clear, so it was decided it was safe to proceed with surgery. Any surgery is a risk but for an almost 13 yr old with LP and tie back surgery, it's even more risky. The goal of surgery was to improve the quality of her life now as I know it was hurting her. Last Tuesday AM I dropped her off for surgery. Of course the tears were flowing as I tried to drive off. She went thru surgery like a champ, her vital signs stayed stable and only need a bit of fluids. I was able to pick her up by 3pm. The news from Dr. Renee was not good. Yes it was as we suspected, the nasty C. She was not able to get all the feeder roots without effecting the inside of her mouth and lip more (not letting her mouth close). So now we wait for histology report and spoil her more. Got her to drink a bit and eat enough that night to get her meds. She slept well, me not so much watching her. Monday we got the preliminary report - suspected melanoma or could be mast cell since eosinophils were present. They are doing some additional stains - so wait again for final report. My vet will contact the oncologist at LSU vet school for recommendations. The only good news is the lymph node is smaller and no cancer cells seen there. I have decided not to pursue aggressive treatment - palliative only to keep her as comfortable as possible and we can enjoy the time we have left together. I have always said when Lola stops picking up her Wubba for our short walks, I'll know she's ready. Today is not that day -
She is doing well now, eating well and much more comfortable without that nasty thing on her beautiful face.
It's day by day or week by week and I pray for month by month. She is my Love, has been a special girl since the day I brought her home on 1/13/2006. I will do what's best for her as she has always done for me. Just didn't want to believe the horrible C would be what took her from me. Prayers for Lola much appreciated. I will keep her friends posted. Now that things are somewhat back to normal, I'll be back to sewing and getting the bumper orders out.
Thank you all for supporting her and keeping her spirit on the dock alive! Betsy

Hi everyone -- not one for posting personal things but wanted to let our friends know why I have been "out of pocket" for a bit. Started having some muscle spam type pain in my neck, enough to interfere with sleep and of course sewing. Finally gave in for MD visit and MRI. Age seems to be catching up with me as I do have some significant issues. Bottom line after a visit with a neurosurgeon and subsequent physical therapist, I am finally turning the corner and getting back to normal - ice and bed every day after work is only FUN for so long!!
Those of you who are waiting on bumpers - I promise to get them done this weekend. I know I owe a few of you email or message replies. I will respond in the am. Very early and LONG day today, so don't want to over do it tonight! Tomorrow is a NEW Day!! Again sorry for the delays and limited responses.

Absolutely amazing job done by Safe K9 Transports, Heart of Texas DockDogs club members and APA to keep so many animals safe! Our thoughts and prayers remain with you all as you continue to recover.

This girl would totally loose it when she saw the pool/dock on driving up to a venue and just vibrate with excitement on the dock. I retired her from the sport in 2014 due to her health issues. She is now 12.5 years old (born November 2005) and suffers from several orthopedic issues including hip dysplasia, elbow issues and arthritis. In Feb 2017 she underwent surgery for laryngeal paralysis and had a very serious episode of aspiration pneumonia in April of that year. Thankfully since that time she’s done well. Oh yes we have good days and not so good days. As long as she is Happy, Tail Wagging and still wanting to take her Wubba on our short walks - we keep looking forward! Lola current goes to our vet about every 10 days for acupuncture and laser treatments to control her pain and improve her mobility. My goal is to use all proceeds from the sale of these bumpers to support Lola's current treatments and her medications.
