🚨 NEW PARTNER CLINIC! 🚨

Dr. Danielle Yuhas, a board-certified Veterinary Cardiologist, and registered veterinary tech, Jackie, were invited into Manhattan Beach Animal Hospital for the first time recently to see this cutie, Gracie, and the team was so welcoming! 🎉🐾🐕

Dr. Yuhas had previously seen Gracie due to a syncope (fainting) and arrhythmias noted on an exam and performed a follow-up echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart) on her. We are so proud of how well she did for her echo!

This sweet boy is Benny. 🐶

Dr. Yuhas and Jackie met Benny at P.V Village Pet Hospital. He has a history of a heart murmur that was a louder on his most recent exam, so an echocardiogram (ultrasound of her heart) was performed to further investigate.

Benny's ECHO revealed he has Mitral Valve Disease & Tricuspid Valve Disease. Both conditions are common in older, smaller breed dogs but we hope with the initiation of medical therapy his condition can be managed for a long time.❤

We appreciate having the opportunity to participate in his care, and will be on the lookout for updates as Team LA monitors his progress! 🐶💜🐾

Dr. Danielle Yuhas and Jackie met with Attica at Ladera Pet Clinic to perform an echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart) due to a recently detected heart murmur and an enlarged heart. During his imaging, Dr. Yuhas discovered that Attica has Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy (HOCM).

📚VetMed Fact: HOCM is a disease most commonly encountered in felines. The heart muscle becomes abnormally thick (hypertrophied), and this can block (obstruct) blood flow from the left ventricle to the aorta (the body's main artery).

Dr. Yuhas recommended a treatment plan with medication to help manage his condition and we are looking forward to seeing Attica again in a few months to reassess his progress and response to therapy. 🐶

Dr. Strachan and Jenn were invited into Lido Animal Hospital for the first time recently for an ultrasound and the team was amazing and so helpful! Alice, the hospital cat, greeted us as soon as we walked through the door and supervised part of the ultrasound for our fantastic patient, Cruz! 🐱🐾🐶

Starr has a smile that lights up the room, just look at that precious face! 😍

Dr. Danielle Yuhas, a Board-Certified Veterinary Cardiologist, and Registered Veterinary Technician, Jackie, had the opportunity to visit Starr at Harbor Animal Hospital to perform an echo on her in November due to a heart murmur and a collapse episode.

She had one again in December, so Dr. Yuhas came in to place a Holter Monitor (a noninvasive method of assessing the heart's rhythm and rate) on her to further investigate. We’re waiting on those results and expect them back in a few weeks. She was a very good girl for the placement and we were very impressed by her sweet demeanor! 🐾🐕

This stylish pup with his raincoat is Johnny! ☔️

Dr. Yuhas and her veterinary assistant, Jackie, met Johnny at Animal Hospital of South Bay (Lawndale) to perform an echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart) to evaluate his heart murmur. This non-invasive tool was used to ensure that he is a good candidate for an upcoming dental cleaning.

The echocardiogram revealed Johnny has Mitral Valve Disease & Tricuspid Valve Disease, which are very common conditions in older small breed dogs. These are age related changes to the valves within the heart, but thankfully, no medications are needed at this time and he is cleared to go under anesthesia to get his teeth cleaned! 🦷🪥

We appreciate having been given the opportunity to participate in Johnny’s care, and look forward to collaborating with the team at Animal Hospital of South Bay again in the near future.🐾

🚨 NEW PARTNER ALERT! 🚨

Dr. Strachan, a Board-Certified Small Animal Internal Medicine Specialist, and Jennifer, a Fear Free Certified Registered Technician, were invited into Tustana Animal Hospital for the first time recently to meet with Rylee, a sweet lab who was a bit camera shy for us. 🐾❤️

Rylee has had a bout of diarrhea recently and an abdominal ultrasound was performed to further investigate.

Dr. Yuhas and Jackie met Mandoo at Petra Pet Clinic. Mandoo has had a chronic cough and is currently taking heart medication. An echocardiogram (ultrasound of her heart) was performed to further investigate.

The echocardiogram revealed Mandoo has Mitral Valve Disease, which is a common condition in older small breed dogs. Mandoo’s medication will be increased slightly and Dr. Yuhas and Jackie will look forward to seeing this cutie again in 6 months for a re-check. 🥰

Dr. Strachan, a Board-Certified Small Animal Internal Medicine Specialist, and Jennifer, a Fear Free Certified Registered Technician, are always happy to visit University Veterinary Center. They have the cutest patients!

Recently, they had the opportunity to perform ultrasounds on Cubbie, Mia, and Mochi. These sweet patients were perfectly wonderful for their ultrasounds. 🥰🐾

This smiley cutie is Woori! 🐶

Dr. Yuhas, a Board-Certified Veterinary Cardiologist, and Jackie, a Veterinary Assistant, visited with Woori at Petra Pet Clinic. An echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart) was performed to monitor Woori’s previously diagnosed Mitral Valve Disease.

This condition is common in older, smaller breed dogs and we are happy to report no changes in medications are needed at this time.

We appreciate having the opportunity to participate in Woori's care! 💜🐾

Dr. Strachan, a Board-Certified Small Animal Internal Medicine Specialist, and Jennifer, a Fear Free Certified Registered Technician, were invited into Animal Hospital of Huntington Beach for the first time recently and the team was so great!

They met with the sweetest boy (just look at this face!!), R.J., who has a skin infection, and performed an abdominal ultrasound to make sure nothing else was complicating his condition. He was the perfect patient for his scan! 🐕

This cutie is Alika! 🐶🐾

Dr. Yuhas and Jackie met Alika at Family Pet Clinic of Redondo Beach. She has a history of a heart murmur that has recently increased in intensity, so an echocardiogram (ultrasound of her heart) was performed to further investigate.

The echocardiogram revealed Alika has Mitral Valve Disease & Tricuspid Valve Disease, which are very common conditions in older small breed dogs. These are age related changes to the valves within the heart and she will continue with her current medication to help manage the condition.

We are looking forward to seeing her in a year to check her progress! 💜🐶🥰

🚨 NEW PARTNER ALERT! 🚨

Dr. Nicole Strachan, a Board-Certified Small Animal Internal Medicine Specialist, and Jenn, her Veterinary technician, were invited into Vetco Total Care - Huntington Beach for the first time recently to perform a diagnostic endoscopy procedure on a sweet kitty named Sabine.

🏥 VetMed Fact: Diagnostic endoscopy is a minimally invasive tool that can be used to visualize the inside of the GI Tract (esophagus, stomach, small intestines, and large intestines). It allows our team of Internists to look for signs of ulcers, foreign material, masses, or changes to the tissue that would suggest underlying disease like Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

Sabine has been having episodes of vomiting and diarrhea recently, so Dr. Strachan used her endoscopy equipment to investigate further. We are happy to report there was nothing of major concern that we saw.
