It’s wild to think that is incredible day was one year ago.💛

Flipping back through these stunning photos by .collective we are humbled and in awe of all the hands, seen and unseen, that played a part in making our dream wedding a reality.

As we look back we are in constant awe and amazement of how God moved the minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and even years leading up to 7.9.22.

This next year is going to be an epic one and we can’t wait to tell our little wildflower all about the dreamy day her mom and dad said “I DO!” 🌼

Getting to come out of our temporary retirement and execute our very first destination wedding was an honor for our dear friends Kasey & Bryce. 

I (Rachel) have known Kasey for just shy of a decade. Her warmth and sunshine-like personality make everyone around her feel loved and cherished. The Lord brought her her perfect match in Bryce and the two decided to start their marriage journey by throwing the most epic celebration in Las Cruces, New Mexico this past April.

We used desert tones and textures from the dramatic New Mexico landscape as a starting point incorporating warm hues of rust, creams, and mustard yellow. We then threw in pops of plum, magenta, and dusty blue inspired by .studio Dutch Renaissance style.

A huge shout out to , to all the talented friends and family who helped us pull off this floral-filled set-up, and to .cophoto for capturing it all so perfectly.

🌷A very HAPPY (belated) MOTHER’S DAY to all the amazing moms out there!🌷

We SO missed bringing you all our Mother’s Day Tulip bouquets this year…and will continue to miss growing beautiful things this summer.

While our much needed break has been wonderful we decided to grow something beautiful this summer after all…OUR LITTLE WILDFLOWER joins the crew this Autumn🌷🌸💗

We couldn’t be more excited to meet our sweet baby girl!! It felt so fitting being surrounded by Tulips yesterday at Tulip Festival!🌷

Words fall short. Thankful doesn’t even come close. We are blessed and eternally grateful…💛

Last Saturday we said our marriage vows surrounded by our closest friends and family on the same property where we had our very first date (which appropriately was flower bouquet making.)

We can’t wait to continue to share more photos and stories of this incredible day.

Thanking God for all the love and support, incredible friends and family, PERFECT weather and a stunning field of blooming snapdragons!

We can’t begin to express our gratitude from this past weekend.💛

Gratitude towards all the incredible friends and family who rolled with the wacky weather and gratitude towards our Heavenly Father. He once again proved that He is in full control by taking a day with 90% chance of rain and thunderstorms and turning it to one with warm sun☀️ , cool spring breezes 🍃and tail end showers that 🌧watered in our 3,000 some snapdragons. 🐉

There is still more to be done to get the garden ready for July 9th, but we are going to bed humbled and so very thankful for our community and to our God.

❤️10 MORE DAYS UNTIL MOTHER"S DAY!❤️ We can hardly believe it, but our quickly filling cooler tells us it must be true!🤩 We harvested a full tray of farm fresh double bloom tulips yesterday and will be back at it again tonight!🌷

Did you know that this is how we store our tulips, bulb and all and NO WATER?😯 It sounds wild but it’s true! Tulips are super resilient and rather than needing to live in a bucket of water like most cut flowers, tulips get all of their nutrients from their bulb. This makes them super easy to harvest and store before they are rehydrated and designed into bouquets for you!💐

🌷To say we were excited to harvest our first tulips of the season would be an understatement!🌷
To say we were not even more excited to find our new raised bed method, courtesy of Jennie from , made harvesting an absolute BREEZE would be a lie! 😆🎉

We’ve learned Flower Farming is basically just one little experiment after another.👩🏻‍🔬👨🏼‍🔬It’s researching, listening to podcast, reading anything puts out, talking with our community of fellow flower farmers, sprinkled with some good ol’ fashioned trial and error. It’s one great big adventure, where the loses are opportunities to learn, and the wins save hours of bending over the dirt with a trowel trying to strategically unearth only the tulips that are ready and not their neighbors who are still cooking. ⏲

This is us, unfiltered, dog-tired, sweaty, compost covered, and happy as ever to be living this dream together!👨🏼‍🌾💛👩🏻‍🌾

With so many fresh faces around here we thought this would be a great time to introduce ourselves to all you and give an update on how this year’s garden prep is going!

For those of you who don’t know, we are Stephen Wiedenfeld & Rachel Loomis (soon to be Wiedenfeld😉!) We met through a mutual friend two summers ago during a not so chance encounter at the Crystal Lake Farmer’s Market. Stephen graduated with a Bachelors in Agriculture with an emphasis is Agronomy and Horticulture along with a minor in Agricultural Missions. He'd moved back to Crystal Lake and had been running Waypoint Farm, a successful market garden, for 2 years when I (Rachel) came on the scene. I graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design and then spent the next few years as a full time wedding and event florist in Boston and then in the Chicago suburbs. So naturally, after a couple months of dating we decided why not start a flower garden together!? What began as growing tulips for kicks and giggles quickly grew into a full fledge flower farm operation in conjunction with Waypoint, and thus Meadoway was born!

We learned so much last season and had an absolute BLAST getting to create beautiful things for all of you!

This season we decided to step away from the Crystal Lake Farmer’s Market and focus our energy on Mother’s Day Tulips and our July WEDDING!! Our big day is fast approaching, and with that the garden is starting to take shape into our very own, flower-filled garden chapel! In the coming weeks we plan on finishing up the burning of our landscape fabric, re-working the drip tape irrigation, spreading more grass seed in the aisles, and of course planting the 4,500+ snapdragons starts!

Last week was an absolute BLUR full of exciting things! 😆 With the launch of our Mother’s Day Pre-sale and special giveaway with .studio and .loved, our very first blog publication with .collective and , planting and prepping for our own July wedding, AND THIS…OUR FIRST OFFICIAL MEADOWAY ELOPEMENT! Ruth & Charles tied the knot on Saturday during an intimate ceremony downtown and it couldn’t have been more perfect! Creating the floral for these two was an honor and a joy. Thank you for trusting us with your beautiful vision and thank you all for following along as the Lord grows our dreams and vision for Meadoway!

Rachel’s bridal shower was this past weekend and we had an absolute blast! 💛🤍🧡 Our inspiration came from the vintage pink and amber glassware we’ve been collecting for the wedding (amongst a plethora of other fun colors.😍)

We were blown away by all the incredible blooms we picked up from but the Golden Mustard Roses definitely stole the show! 💛
