Many people think socialization is letting your dog play with other dogs or be held/pet by several people--which it absolutely can be! BUT if the other dog isn’t dog friendly it can go horribly wrong or if the people don’t know how to handle puppies it can induce fear. The best socialization is one that the puppy can go at their own pace and be an observer. Here, you can observe these pups getting great social exposure where they don’t need to be in the thick of it!

Leash training with Henley ✨
Note the leash and how it remains loose at all times. I am not pulling him or dictating where he should go instead I am walking with him as if sharing the walk. When we stop I am looking for an auto sit as this works great if you are talking to a neighbor on a walk or crossing the street! I wait for him to give the desired behavior (sit) and then I reward with a treat.
