We are happy to announce that K9 Jessie from the Gentry County Sheriff Office in MO was awarded a K9 Medical Kit from Protection4Paws. This kit was made possible as a result of a donation from the non-profit charity Protection4Paws, Inc.

Protection4Paws is a PA based charity whose mission is to supply Law Enforcement K9s with the items needed to protect them while they protect us.

Time is critical when treating severe injuries in the field and saving time increases the chance of survival for the casualty in an emergency or hostile situation. Our K9 Medical Kit contains essential equipment that helps assist in the team’s safety as well as allowing for the quickest means of medical response for the K9.

K-9 Raven was the loyal partner to Patrolman Brandon Haines, and had recently retired after 6 years of dedicated service with the Stafford Township Police Department.

Mochi ist eine bildschöne, im November 2021 geborene Hündin. Sie ist ein Malinois/Hollandse Herder-Mix und ca. 61 cm groß, geimpft und gechipt.
Mochi ist sehr verschmust und menschenbezogen, braucht aber klare Führung und vor allem eine Aufgabe. Im Schutzdienst sieht ihre Familie sie weniger, Nasenarbeit oder Agility wären eher ihr Ding. Ohne Leine sind große Hunde selten ein Problem, unsichere kleine Hunde mobt sie gerne. Mit Leine neigt sie zum pöbeln, beruhigt sich aber schnell und mit etwas Abstand ist es auch kein Problem.

Alleine bleiben kann sie nach einer Eingewöhnungszeit, Auto- und Liftfahren kennt sie. Mochi war mit ihrer Familie sowohl mit in Holland im Urlaub, als auch in den Alpen auf einer Berghütte. Sie war mit in Geschäften und Restaurants, sprich sie wurde bestmöglich in den Alltag integriert. Eines ihrer größten Probleme ist allerdings ihre absolute Katzen- (die jagt sie) und Pferdeunverträglichkeit (die greift sie an). An den Pferden wird mit ihr gearbeitet und es wird besser, sie ist aber noch nicht wirklich entspannt. Kinder und andere Menschen ignoriert sie größtenteils, möchte aber auch nicht von Fremden angefasst werden.

Autobahnbrücken und schnelle Autos an der Straße machen ihr Stress, das müsste weiter geübt werden. Ebenso die Leinenführigkeit, die mal gut, mal gar nicht funktioniert. Für einen Mali kommt sie gut zur Ruhe, ist aber rassetypisch ein Hund, der Aufmerksamkeit und Förderung benötigt.
Für Mochi wird eine hundesportaffine Bezugsperson gesucht, die ihr die Auslastung und die Umgebung anbieten kann, die sie im aktuellen Zuhause leider nicht bekommen kann - gerne auch als Zweithund zu einem souveränen Erstling.
