Batsh*t Barry
16-10-2020 - 16-1-2025
On Thursday 16th January 2025 Batsh*t Barry traded his bat wings for angel wings as a result of a tragic paddock accident during a Sydney thunderstorm.
In honour of the amazing pony he was we would like to commemorate his life rather than spread our grief.
Batsh*t Barry, a pony unlike any other. Barry was more than just a pony—he was a legend, a force of nature, and a beacon of chaotic joy. From the moment he entered our lives, he left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Barry lived with purpose, always driven by his own agenda. Every day was a new adventure, and Barry tackled it with unmatched enthusiasm. Whether he was off on his own escapades or galloping noisily back across the paddock to demand attention (or snacks), Barry was the very embodiment of independence and exuberance.
He identified as 16.3hh—because, of course, he did—and carried himself with all the grace and grandeur of a horse twice his size. Barry was not only gorgeous but also successful in his own right. His antics were the stuff of legend, earning him renown for his “Batsh*t crazy” spirit that sparked joy and, often, a little mischief wherever he went.
Barry had an enormous personality that could not be contained. He was a natural leader, inciting playful riots and bringing energy to every moment. He survived countless scrapes and close calls, always defying the odds with his unbreakable spirit. Each time he returned, ears pricked and eyes shining with mischief, he reminded us of the resilience and joy of simply being alive.
Above all, Barry brought happiness. His antics, his energy, his sheer presence—everything about him made life brighter for those around him. He had a way of making every person and creature he met feel like part of his extraordinary story.
Today, as we remember Batsh*t Barry, we carry his legacy of joy, resilience, and unbridled spirit in our hearts. Gallop free, Barry, across paddocks endless and lush. May you always find your adventures, your company, and, of course, your food. You were truly one of a kind.
