So much for taking time off! I was at the center until the wee hours again tonight (or well I guess now that would officially mean last night!) I was incredibly lucky, though, to have a gal reach out responding to my post on a local page about the new business location. It turns out we had met a few years ago (through dogs, of course!), and she happens to live close to the center! She came by and visited and her boyfriend showed up a bit later and was an absolute gem helping put the other shelving units together! I'm still in disbelief over how things came about and am looking so forward to being their neighbor and getting to know them better! Ohhh and her one year old son had an absolute ball playing with one of the new agility tunnels that just arrived! ❤️

It took me a RIDICULOUS amount of time to put these shelving units together and I have a few more to go. These long days trying to get too much done are catching up with me for sure. Thankfully, my "weekend" starts tomorrow. Hopefully I'll actually take two days off!

I did my due diligence and called 811 before we did any digging. The gas company told us not to dig within 2 feet of their yellow mark, so my brother dug 3' from it. So much for that! You can't even SEE the red paint mark from the electric company because it's about TWENTY feet from where we ran into this tracer wire and conduit! But hey, isn't that a cool auger I rented to make Randy's (my brother's) life easier when he did the digging? I'm such a great sister! 😁

I've been telling you all!!! BIG things in the works for Quad Cities Canine! I'm taking over restaurant space for an indoor/outdoor dog training facility with ADA access! 😁😁😁 Belly up to the bar for your dog training! 😆 But seriously, bar seating for presentations will be kinda cool!

I am finishing up Randi's service dog training to suit Heather's specific needs. Although I'm doing everything at a greatly reduced price, it's still a great financial burden that Heather needs assistance with. If you can help at all, it will be so greatly appreciated! No amount is too small! Much of the expense is going to have to go toward either me traveling to New Mexico for a couple weeks (losing all other business in the meantime) or for Dasha Gariepy to travel to me for handler training, which would require them to have to pay for a certified caretaker for Dasha's usual 8 hour daily "shift".

Here's Rox at the vet waiting on her daily bandage change - she was victim to her sister Aashka not being quite ready to be out with certain other dogs yet after having her puppies. I did monitor them the first week, just goes to show you how the definition of the word for female dog came about. 😢

Lol I bought all the t-shirts on clearance at Walmart that I could some time ago and this Def Leppard one has been the biggest hit so far! She'll go home in a Sesame Street shirt 😆

Hooray for Bean, Bean! He got adopted and is on his way to his new home in Tempe! ❤️❤️❤️ We're really going to miss him. He's about as sweet as they come! And so is the couple that adopted him! ☺️

I find people to be so funny. I had a lengthy conversation with a man who called (referral from a neighbor). He obtained his last dog for $200 from an ad on Craigslist. He got his previous dog as an adult dog from another party. He will soon be putting that dog to sleep because of hip dysplasia. I talked to him for almost 40 minutes about some of the puppies and dogs I have available for adoption as well as the extensive testing that was done on the parent dogs that ran several thousand dollars. After we spoke, I sent him some photos of some of the puppies and dogs I have available. It seems he's going to pass mine up because they don't have the "perfect" ears that German Shepherds should have. My priorities for service dogs are temperament and health. I sure hope this man doesn't go get another Craigslist dog or one that doesn't have appropriate genetic testing. I'll take my healthy, bent-eared shepherds with kind dispositions and excellent temperaments any day over the heartbreak of getting a dog that has to be put down way too soon in life no thanks to greedy backyard breeders and naive, lazy or cheap folks that don't do right by their dogs!
