Bonsai 🌱💕

Sweet boy had a visit with the vet today to get his second round of shots and to get started on prevention! He got a clean bill of health from the Vet and got to love on all of the techs. His favorite part was definitely all of the yummy treats!

Meet Bonsai 💕🌱

Bonsai is new to the TTH family and will be staying with us to hopefully be able to fill some big shoes.

This little pup was selected out of a Golden Retriever litter where he scored mixture of 3’s and 4’s on the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test.

He is currently just a prospect as we will continue to evaluate if he will be a good candidate for service work. He is a super bubbly puppy that recovers quickly from unfamiliar situations and has a natural retrieve that we will be continuing to shape as we see what other skills he may do well at.

These are just some moments over the past week of having him. So far he is doing wonderfully with potty training and has been working a lot on calm state of mind by tethering and having crate time. He is doing well with traveling in the car and has been starting to work on some indirect socialization out in safe public places and direct socialization with safe adult dogs in our home.

Artie has officially been placed with his new owner!

We are so proud of the progress that he has made and we are so excited to hear about all of the great things he will do to help his person!

Artie will be finishing up his training with the handlers trainer who will be fine tuning the rest of the training and doing private lessons with his new owner to help work on their relationship before they head off to college!

Artie is still available! Service Dog in Training.

Today was a busy day for Artie! Up until this point Artie has had lots of breaks in between training sessions and has recently starting going into non-pet friendly places! This sweet boy always continues to exceed my expectations! We started our morning with a walk in the park and then heading to church where he napped through most of service and had no issues with tasking when needing to do so. For lunch we went to a buffet where he did beautifully holding a heel, ignoring dropped food and people, and then calmly laying under the table while we ate. After lunch we went by Petsmart to burn some energy and continuing working on dog distractions before heading to see a movie ( the new Guardians of the Galaxy). Artie will be continuing his training and we will be pointing him the direction of PTSD/ psychiatric response! I can’t wait to see how much more this boy continues to progress! Today was a day that I know he could handle with no problem, but it still ceases to amaze me! ☺️

Artie is still available!
Artie is a confident, well-rounded pup that we believe would make a great service dog for psychiatric and maybe alerting tasks as well. So far he knows sit, down, heel and place and we are currently working on DPT and retrievals.

Here is a glimpse at what he is working on out in public! It was Artie's first time at Academy and he did great with all of the distractions!

Hey everyone, meet Artie! Artie is a very confident, smart 5 months old Standard Poodle puppy. He is currently in training to be a Service Dog and will be available once his training is finished! Currently we are working on exposure to things he will encounter when he is a Service Dog!

Miriam went on an outing with her handler to Lowes the other day to work on her off leash skills in a busy environment and got to practice some more DPT. Service Dogs are only allowed off leash if the leash interferes with the task. Since Miriam will be learning more tasks in the future that may require her to be off leash, we are working on solidifying those skills.
