THEODORE - This dog is a neutered male. This dog is currently located in CLIND01. This dog weighs approximately 6.0 lbs.,is 13Y and has tested negative for heartworm disease. This dog is being posted to rescue due to other reasons.
Meet Theodore! Needs rescue placement by Saturday, 02/01/2025
Teddy was found hiding under a car on Plymouth Sorrento Rd with no signs of ownership. He has a mass IN HIS MOUTH (picture in comments) that could possibly be a carcinoma and I wanted to put him on your radar because if no one reclaims him, he will need rescue placement.
Assessment: R oral aspect, 1 centemeter ulcerated growth (picture attached), R lateral commissure, matted fur due to oozing drainage. BCS 3-4/9, eats well an
Recommendation(s): Post to rescue, move to investigate and house in clinic, gave cerenia, convenia and meloxicam, recheck in AM
Very friendly, easy to handle and still able to eat!
Medical notes from 01/25/2025:
Reason for exam: recheck, add rechecks, reported eats wet food and has all teeth missing, has oral mass (verbal vet exam request)
Findings: QAR, no eye or nasal discharge, BCS 3.5/9 mild thin, RR 20bpm, no skin tent, euhydrated. Severe opaque cataracts bilateral, appears to be blind, no menace response. Moderate brown crusting R lip commissure. Reported teeth missing and oral mass (suspect neoplasia), unable to view cage side.
