My brother and I started hunting almost 20 years ago. We were both in our early 20s. We had stumbled across hunting through a friend. At the time, we had no dog nor any experience shooting a shotgun. After going out several times, we fell in love with upland hunting. Over the years, many things have changed such as guns, dogs, terrain, etc. but one thing has never changed, my passion and love for the uplands.
We have made so many memories over the years. Many of our stories will get passed down to my son and his children. That’s if my son continues the legacy…
My son hasn’t really embraced hunting yet. I’ve never pushed him into it’s. I have patiently waited for him to ask me to take him out. This year for the first time he asked me “Why haven’t you taken me hunting?” I answered “you never ask me too”. I think this is best method vs forcing him to go and making him dispose it.
This picture was taken on a day he really wanted to go. I didn’t force him or push him, he asked to go on his own. As he gets older, I hope he embraces hunting as his father. If not, so be it. Time shall tell. Until then, I will continue to go hunt and wait for him to ask.
Thanks for capturing this moment.
