Goldie has been adopted by Rosie & Martin Hartman who live in Oak Ridge. Goldie is so excited that she will have 2 human siblings, age 8 and 12, as well as 2 fur siblings, Gus and Jasmine.

Big thanks to Debbie Beckner Worley as DP for finding this wonderful family and Shazi Ahmad who was the phenomenal AC.

This one was love at first sight.

AGK Goldie here for an update. I came to AGK from the Campbell County Animal Shelter where they loved me so much that I stayed in the director's office. My foster dad has also learned that I make a great dog to take with him to the office. Everyone that meets me tells me that I am such a sweet girl that loves snuggling in a human's lap and getting lots of affection. One thing that my foster parents are learning, is that I can also be an independent girl, as long as I have a nice comfy dog bed to lay on. I am always on my best behavior and can be left alone for many hours, if needed. I like to play with other dogs and the word is that I am good with cats and children. I have been diagnosed with hip dysplasia, but I still move around pretty good and even get a little excited sometimes. I am also, being treated for Lyme disease. I do not like stairs and with my bad hips, I more than likely need to go to a home where I will not have to go up and down too many stairs to go potty. If I look like I am losing my hair, it is because I had a flea infestation that was treated at the shelter, and now my hair is growing back in. Anyway, I would love to find my forever family, so if you know of someone who would love me, then I would love to meet them.

AGK Carter has been adopted by Janet Colpritt, previous adopter, who lives in Maine! Carter will grow up with 9 year old Golden, AGK Summer. Janet has a long history of adopting rescues and we think Carter has hit the jackpot!

AGK Carter is doing very well with crate training. He quickly realized that he gets treats when it is time to go in the crate. Even with access to water at all times, he sleeps all night from about 8:30PM until around 5AM, when he needs to be taken outside to potty. He then goes back in the crate until I wake up again around 6:30AM or 7:00AM. He hasn't had a single accident in the crate. He hasn't had a single accident in the crate.

Dallas has been adopted by Kathy Bougie and Ray Slonina! He will grow up with a female 8 year old Golden (Petra) and 3 cats! I see lots of play time ahead! Thanks to all of the volunteers who helped with Dallas’ intake, medical needs and adoption, particularly Mallory Leonard,Stormy Weathers Washington, and Gena and Tracy Bygate for handling AC duties! O Happy Day! ❤️🐾🎉

It is time for a pupdate. Soooo...2 days ago, two of Holly's 8 week old littermates joined Adopt a Golden Knoxville and Holly at our house. Even though boys can be little pests LOL, I think that AGK Holly has enjoyed having them around. Plus AGK Holly knows how to hold her own. With that said, I would like to introduce everyone to AGK Carter (Blue) and AGK Dallas (Green). AGK Carter (Blue) has one testicle that hasn't dropped yet, but the Vet said that it was really close, so she seemed to think that it should drop on it's own. AGK Dallas (Green) has both of his testicles dropped, but has a low grade heart murmur that is expected to either go away on it's own or is not expected to impact his quality of life in any way. Now that all three puppies have their first vaccines, today we let them play outside for the first time, in our fenced in backyard. At first they were a little leery of this new environment, but they were quick to rebound and ended up having a blast. Anyway, you can see each photo and video for a description of who is in each one.

Time for an AGK Holly pupdate. Holly is 7 weeks 2 days old today and is doing very well. I just love her little spunky attitude. She is getting lots of socialization with my two Goldens and they are really enjoying having her around. She is up to 5lbs 12oz

Adding some photos and videos of AGK Holly. Holly is still very small for just turning 6 weeks old, but she is eating well and gaining weight each day. She is starting to get a little fiesty, but is such a good little puppy. I just know that whomever is meant to be her forever family, is going to fall in love with her so quickly, cause she is such a cute little sweetheart.

Photos and videos of AGK Holly from the past couple of days. Today, Holly is 4 weeks 5 days old. On Christmas Eve, we visited with family close by, that doesn't have a dog, so Holly got to come along with us. Holly really had fun meeting new people and even took a little nap in her carrier while everyone was eating. AGK Holly is starting to find her voice and developing her own little personality. Holly is such a good little puppy. If you are holding her and she needs to p*e or p**p, she will even whine to let you know and will usually go to bathroom immediately after being put down on her potty area. Oh and need I say that Holly is so adorable.

I would like to introduce everyone to AGK Holly. AGK Holly is a purebred Golden Retriever that was born premature on November 23. She came to my foster care with Adopt a Golden Knoxville on December 15th, but I chose to wait until after a good report from the Vet yesterday, to introduce her. AGK Holly is very small for 4 weeks old, but I am happy to report that she is growing everyday and is doing very well.

Today was puppy pickup day for the Addams Family Pups! Congrats to the adopters! Morticia will be Ripley and will have a 14 year old sibling. Gomez will be Boone and will be part of a young couple’s soon to be growing family. Fester will be Gus and will have a 9 year old Golden for a playmate. Smiles and happiness all around! Big thanks to all the other volunteers!

The AGK Addams Family puppies turned 8 weeks old yesterday. All three are going home this morning, so we gave them a bath yesterday morning. I did a video of the bath, blow dry, and of some practice "stacking". For those that don't know, in addition to being a volunteer for AGK, I am a future preservation breeder, so I thought that while each puppy was on the table, that I would do a little practice stacking, like we do for puppy evaluations. Anyway, all three puppies said they don't like this too much. I want to add that all of these puppies can in a matter of a few months get to where they love table time. My recommendation for all puppies whether show or companion is bathing and drying on a grooming table at least every 2 weeks or so. When you couple doing this on a regular basis along with plenty of high value treats, then before long, you will usually find that they love bath and table time. It is all about lots of exposure especially when they are young.

More pupdates for the AGK Addams Family puppies from over the weekend. The puppies turn 8 weeks old on Thanksgiving Day. All three puppies have awesome families that are eagerly waiting to pick them up on Friday.

Over the weekend the weekend the puppies had a blast getting to meet some new people. They got to go outside for the first time and all three puppies p**ped and p*ed pretty quickly outside. It has been chilly so they were only able to stay out and play for about 15 minutes at a time. On Saturday, I changed their pen a little bit and added a crate to the pen with an open door to give them some crate exposure and all three puppies have been voluntarily sleeping a little in the crate. Oh and when the puppies are in the living room, I have to keep the stairs blocked off because I have some daredevil puppies that are already starting to try to go up the stairs. 😆

Time for some pupdate photos and videos. The puppies are 5 weeks 5 days old today. A little each day, we are socializing the puppies with our Goldens and it is so sweet to watch them interact. Adara and Nava are so good with them. 🥰

Posting some cute photos and videos of the AGK Addams Family puppies. They were born on 9/29/2022 so today they are now 4 weeks 5 days old. Earlier today, I brought the puppies in the livingroom one at a time, to let them spend a very short period of supervised time with Adara and Nava. As expected, Adara and Nava were so good with them.

I would like to introduce everyone to AGK's Addams Family theme litter of 3; 2 boys and 1 girl. We have Gomez (Black), Fester (Blue), and Morticia (Pink), who are believed to be Labrador mixes that are about 3 weeks old. These three puppies were orphaned after their mother was hit by a car and thanks to a rescue friend in Kentucky and Adopt a Golden Knoxville, they have a beautiful bright future ahead of them. Anyway, I love posting photos, so starting now, everyone get ready for lots of adorable puppy photos and videos.

Hello! I would like to introduce everyone to AGK Poppy, our 6th foster from Adopt a Golden Knoxville. Poppy is a really sweet female Lab mix, that is very treat motivated and eager to learn. She is very smart and a quick learner. I think she would be great to train for Rally and possibly Obedience, if someone was interested in competing. Poppy spent two weeks with a trainer and learned how to heel and walk on a loose lead, but she will need someone to continue with her training. One big plus is that the trainer explained to me that whomever adopts Poppy, will have one year of continued support, so if they need refresher courses, then they can get those at no charge within the first year.

AGK Poppy appears to be very gentle and patient with 11 weeks old Adara, so she is great around other dogs including puppies. According to her intake information, she is not good around cats or other small prey animals so any home with these pets are probably not the best fit. AGK Poppy, appears to be healthy, other than being on medication for hip dysplasia, so this sweet girl is ready to go to her forever home as soon as her very lucky family is found.
