Usually when I tell owners “by the end of this block you will be dropping your puppy’s lead and walking away… with others in the same area” they all say the same thing.. NO WAY!! And every time it happens. ☺️ Well done

Still time to book in last remaining spaces!

No recall when another dog is around is a very common complaint i get when doing my 121 consultations so I've decided to offer a Reliable Recall class to help with this.

This is me and my Romanian rescue Booch 4 months since I took him in as a foster. I wanted to share this because when it comes to training I believe the stronger the bond between you and your dog, the easier the training will be. Or in this case, the more he or she trusts you when you do eventually introduce them to the big wide world.

It’s been 4 months and I can honestly say Booch has been in my house, in my garden, in my daycare facility and that’s it! It’s taken this long to settle him even in the garden so I wasn’t about to take him on a busy street walk or similar. It would have set him up to fail and stressed him out. Not to mention he wouldn’t trust me at all if I flooded him.

We are now at the stage where I can introduce him to seeing new dogs. Just seeing at a distance. Again this will take time and patience.

Do you have a rescue dog? Build the bond first then tackle the big scary world!

Just finished work after a long week! Now to spend some time with my pack. Booch my Romanian rescue is doing amazingly well! Still a way to go but slowly does it and less is more when it comes to exposure for these reactive dogs for sure! Would you believe me if I said Booch couldn’t even cope with hearing and smelling my dogs from through a door without severe anxiety and reacting aggressively? What I seen was a dog that’s clearly been through a lot of trauma and needed lots of time and habituation.

Adolescent group class Thursday 2nd September at 6:30pm (4 x week Block) £80. This group class is for dogs aged between 6 to 18 months. It offers support dealing with this challenging stage of your dogs life and ongoing support where needed after the block ends. It also covers general obedience. (This is 1 workshop where you will be introduced to loose lead walking methods) Workshop includes Notes and videos of each method.

Introduction to clicker training Workshop ALL AGES WELCOME(£35)
Thursday 19th August at 8.35pm (1 x session workshop)
This workshop introduces you to clicker training and the many things you can get your dog to do using this method) it includes a clicker, notes and videos of example exercises to do with your dog.

Looking to have regular training classes in the Muir of Ord area. I will also be doing some Workshops for clicker training and hopefully in the future Scent Work. To register your interest please contact me.
