Yesterday 8/31 Halo went into hard labor around 6pm and delivered her first puppy at 7pm, Healthy baby girl! We waited and waited and nothing was coming! Around 11:30pm I decided that it was time we head to orchard park animal hospital because something just wasn’t right. When we got there they decided to take her back for X-rays and there was only one large baby in there still. They did an ultrasound on the baby and they couldn’t find a hard beat. We decided to try everything we could before having to do a C-section. They have her 3 rounds of meds to induce her and it just wasn’t doing it’s thing. She could feel the baby it was so close to coming out. We decided to sedate her and take her back to the operating room to get this baby out. It was around 5:00 am. The puppy came out deceased. They got her on antibiotics and some pain meds. Hoping for a fast recovery. I’d like to thank all the staff at the hospital. They were all very kind and made sure Halo and I were as comfortable as we could be! Halo has one beautiful baby girl and I’m so happy that they are both doing okay!
