With the hot weather getting ready to roll in this weekend please be super mindful of heatstroke in your dogs.

Remember, certain dog breeds are more prone to heat-related issues, such as brachycephalic breeds (e.g., Bulldogs, Pugs) due to their shortened airways. Take extra precautions with these breeds and any dog that is elderly, overweight, large breed or has existing health conditions.

Watch for signs of heatstroke: Learn to recognize the symptoms of heatstroke, which may include excessive panting, drooling, rapid heartbeat, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, and collapse. If you suspect your dog has heatstroke, seek immediate veterinary care. 🐾🧡

Dogs on the Streets is a voluntary ran and not-for-profit charity dedicated to the welfare of dogs belonging to the UK’s homeless community.

Headed up by Michelle Clark who prior to the launch of DOTS back in 2016 had already been running a street outreach programme for 6 years. Tending to the needs of the homeless with dogs, she steadily built up a strong rapport and in depth knowledge of their true needs.
