Hello!
I have a TB pony mare (147cm), plain bay around 10 years old, and she has nice confirmation as well as some siblings that have competed up the heights in SJ/SH. She is lovely to have around and is great to handle, has always been barefoot. When I tried her, she was a lovely pony to ride with great paces. However, when she first got here (2021) she was unsafe to ride, so let her have some down time before trying again for her to still unfortunately behave the same way. Previous owners took her to some lowkey SJ/SH which she suited. Since found out she had ulcers (thinking stress of moving to a new place could have caused it but who knows) and she has had treatment for them. I have tried to bring her into work every once in a while but then time restraints never fully allowed her to get up and going again. At the moment I am trying again and thought she had improved, but then she was back to her old ways. If I am being honest with myself, I don’t feel comfortable riding her as I think she has potential to cause harm if these ways aren’t stopped and I have honestly just lost my nerve now to try and push her through these moments. I was just wondering if anyone is after a broodmare (maiden) as she has lovely confirmation and is lovely to handle on the ground or perhaps even as a surrogate?? Or would anyone be up for a project? I have kept her around as she is such a nice pony who I think has potential but this is not fair to her as she deserves to have someone who has time to put into her.
*note she has not been rescoped since being treated in 2023. I would have had her rescoped to see if they have come back, but unfortunately, we are not going to be able to take her to the next scoping clinic and then after that, there isn’t going to be one until February when I will be at uni, and she needs to be sold before then.
