Furever Friends Rescue (FFR) is a not-for-profit animal rescue organization whose mission is to protect and advocate for companion animals in the Tri-State area who are at risk, as well as to provide the resources, education, and programs needed to help build a community where people value animals and treat them with respect and kindness. We are volunteer based and rely on kindhearted humans who s

elflessly dedicate their time to our mission and vision. Our volunteers put boots on the ground and assist in fostering, transport, application processing, home visits, community education, fundraising, marketing, social media and so much more. Exciting News for Big Handomes Journey!
We have a small change of plans, but it's leading to some big, positive steps for Big! Our beloved hunk of love is scheduled to be neutered on February 6th. After his recovery in South Carolina, he will embark on a journey to New York on February 13th, just in time for Valentine's Day!

A Positive Turn for Big's Future
We are thrilled that Big's journey, and ours alongside him, is finally taking a turn for the better. His future trainer is nothing short of amazing. Words cannot express how much this opportunity means to us. Although her first official Board & Train (B&T) opening is not until the end of March, she has graciously offered to foster Big in her home until his training begins due to the urgency of the situation. Isn't that incredible? We are incredibly lucky and deeply grateful for this chance for Big H.

Big Handsome's Opportunity for Transformation is almost a reality!

The Journey to New York
We are thrilled to announce that we have secured a temporary foster for Big Handsome, and he will be traveling to New York in one week. This move marks the beginning of a new chapter in his life, filled with hope and opportunity.

The Need for Training
To ensure Big Handsome is ready for his forever home, we have arranged for him to attend a professional board and train program. This training will help him develop the skills and confidence he needs to thrive in a loving household.
Training Details:
* Start Date: March 20th
* Duration: 30-45 days, depending on his progress

Presley has been battling an upper respiratory infection for a few weeks and has been on three different antibiotics. But the other day she took a turn for the worst and was unable to stand she couldn’t lift her head and was crying in pain. She was rushed to the ER vet and she dx with neurological FIP. FIP occurs from a mutation of a virus that most cats are exposed to in their life. Why it becomes FIP in some cases is not well understood and up until recently there was no treatment for it. Now there is a black market treatment that is expensive but works and cures cats with FIP. FIP is aggressive and the costs for this level of medical treatment adds up quickly. Presley needed two blood transfusions which aren’t cheap. We need your help to pay for Presley hospital stay and treatment. FIP treatment is at least 84 days maybe longer. We won’t know until we see how she is doing. Please help us help her ! COURTESY POST: Beagle in her Golden Years, needs rescue.

Due to no fault of her own, Miss Lucy is in search of a new home. She is a Sr. Pup who is timid around other dogs but could easily be find with a calm smaller dog. We are unsure about cats. She lives with two toddlers. She’s very good at suckering the kiddos out of treats.

Her current situation is urgent. She has been confined to the basement because she has had some accidents in the house. We do not know the circumstances behind the accidents. It could be age related or it could be she just isn’t being given enough outdoor time to fully empty her bladder. Her owner, who has had her since she was 8 weeks old, is not willing to take steps to help diagnose the problem. Her solution is to banish her from the home she has always known. We have tried to offer training/vet recommendations with no success.

Lucy is a 10 year old female beagle who weigh about 30-40lbs. She is spayed. She will need a vet visit and to be brought UTD on shots.

This big boy is doing amazing in his new home. He loves to chew his Kong toys in bed, get daily head-to-tail massages, and jump into the shower with his new dad 😂

🆘 FOSTER NEEDED ASAP 🆘

We got a message from a friend of ours about this beautiful girl! She is living in a car and the temperature next week is dropping to 19. She will freeze.

Our friend said:
Somebody just contacted me about a pitbull that they have in their possession. Person told me that they got this pitbull from a homeless individual that was not taking proper care of the dog. The individual he claims this pitbull was used as a bait dog in dog fights, but not sure how much evidence there is of that.

The person that contacted me told me that at one point he put the dog in a shelter, but took the dog out when they were planning on euthanizing her. Now he has the dog, but the building he lives in does not allow pets so he is keeping the dog in his car every night. He told me that though he does leave the heat on for two hours, he turns the heat off at some point and in the morning the dog seems noticeably stressed out and uncomfortable. I asked if he could bring the dog inside and he said that is not possible. He is looking for help. The dogs name is Leah, she is approximately one year, eight months old, and friendly and good with other dogs.

Can’t believe that no one has shown any interest in this easy to love senior. How can anyone look at this smiling face and not want him for themselves? Not only is he adorable but he is a Velcro pup. He loves his humans. Looking for a dog who isn’t looking to be on the go? Looking for a dog that just wants to hang? Then Digger is your pup.

Through no fault of his own, Digger is in need of a new foster home. Digger has had a harrowing beginning but it doesn’t need to define the rest of his life. He went from spending his life unsure of everyone after being abandoned with another dog, having neighborhood dogs attack him, neighbors shooting at him, watching his buddy get adopted and being left with an unsure future. This is when FFRNYC stepped in and welcomed him.

He’s had a hard life, but is enjoying the comfort of a warm bed and loves all of the attention he’s getting! He’s very calm and loves everyone! He tolerates other animals, but does like his space due to previously being attacked by other dogs. He does best with smaller dogs since he was raised with a small dog.

Digger is a senior pup. The best family for Digger, is one who wants a low key pup. An older family that is looking for a couch potato to cuddle with. A pup that will provide love and companionship. A pup that enjoys peaceful walks among nature. An older pup to spend quiet days, slow walks and nights filled with just chilling and cuddling. His current foster family says that Digger is one of the calmest pups. He loves to relax in the sunroom, the living room, out in the yard or just keeping his humans company. Just chilling & relaxing, enjoying his best life. What more can a 9 yr old wish for?

Meet Honey Bee. This three year old calico lady (DOB 1/30/21) has become accustomed to warmth, love, and naps in the sunshine. She's calm, quiet, and enjoys gentle affection. Although she used to be fearful, she now enjoys pets, ear scratches, and will purr and stretch out for some good loving.
