Can you believe that on average, black cats take an extra 3 days to be adopted?!
🐈⬛ There is so much stigma surrounding black cats, which originates from a period in which they were associated with single women who were accused of being witches. It was considered unlucky if a black cat crossed your path, what with them being the associate of the devil…. Luckily, now we know that is certainly not true!
🐈⬛ One of the main reasons now for black cats spending longer waiting for a new home is that their coat colour is too boring, or hard to photograph!
🐈⬛ As someone who is owned by a black cat, I can tell you, they are anything but boring. She also goes a beautiful rust colour in the sun.
🐈⬛ Look beyond your preconceptions and aesthetic desires, and I promise you’ll be rewarded with an unbeatable personality. For both of our adoptees, both ginger and black, it was their nature that won us over.
