Perendales are known especially for their worm tolerance and hardiness, they are a practical size to handle - medium stature, have good productive longevity, and tolerance to various climatic conditions, highly fertile, are great protective mothers after effortless lambing, who are then easily finished to produce a lean, heavyweight carcass, ideal for the domestic and commercial trade.

Herd has generations of breeding behind it and has numerous bulls in the Ai stations.

Heifers are all Ai sired and calving Jan/Feb to Ai also.

With an average EBI of the group sitting at 238 and the herd producing 521kgs of milk solids for the year this herds production is excellent.

A real genuine group of heifers not to be missed out on.

Here we have a genuine herd sale of 48 milking cows that are back in calf to Ai for next spring. This herd is being ran on a low input system, only feeding less than half a tonne of concentrate annually.

Looking at this herd it is obvious that fertility and longevity is a given, as well as good udder attachment and locomotion.

This is a closed herd and has had no issue with TB for 20 years.

Cows were milk recorded last week and if milked until mid December these cows will have over €800 in milk sales.

Lavender Rockey Chickens

lavender Rockey chicken pencil drawingAs with many of the “new” colours there is still room for improvement, particularly with feather quality on the lavenders due to a linked gene that causes re****ed feather growth. We always look closely at feather quality when selecting our breeding groups in this colour.We also regularly cross back to black and the offspring from this cross are black but carry the lavender gene. Thus when crossed back to a pure lavender all offspring are lavender in colour but with the improved characteristics of the blacks.
