Beautiful shadow in for her first full groom 🫧🐾

Shadow has had a few puppy sessions, this has really helped with gaining trust and building a positive relationship. She is a very happy little pup and seems to enjoy the cuddles and attention she get when being groomed 🥰

Heat Stroke ☀️

With summer finally hitting the UK please be mindful of taking your little fluffy babies on walks. Have a look at the weather for the day and see when it is cooler, the best time of day is early in the morning or later in the evening. The pavement also gets incredibly hot and this means their little feet may burn.

This week we tried Poochie On The Block - in an attempt to streamline our busy lives, we both work full-time and with 2 children and a furry friend - life can be mental! So I thought we’d try a mobile dog groomer.. after a handful of FB recommendations I was lucky enough to get a cancellation this week…

We are thrilled… Roxy looks (and smells) lovely! ❤️ We like to keep her really short especially in hot weather and saves on the interim maintentance of brushing/bathing.

The story of Benji 🩵

Benji is a rescue and when I met him his mum said he hadn’t had a great experience at a previous groomers and was extremely nervous, he wasn’t able to be clipped or even be dried. When I got Benji in the van I took extra time with him to ensure he wasn’t scared. After lots of treats and him bringing his comfort toy 🧸 we managed to get him clipped, bathed and dried. He came out with a lot less hair whilst still being a happy boy. With lots of rescue dogs it’s all about gaining their trust, and this is exactly what we did here!

Please have a read if your taking your doggies out when we get the odd spout of heat 😂☀️

Remember, if it’s too hot for your hands or your bare feet, then it’s too hot for their paw pads! ⚠️

If you’re unsure whether it’s okay to let your pet go for a walk on pavements, a simple way to test the temperature is by holding your bare skin on the tarmac for five seconds ⏱️

If you find it painful, then your pet will find it painful to walk on!

To protect your pet, it’s best to avoid walks during the hottest part of the day, which is usually between 8am and 6pm. If you can't safely exercise your dog, missing a day won't hurt.
